So looks like the Subaru tweeters are close to $100. That, coupled with door woofers can add up. Would it make more sense to get a component set and just get the ********* tweeter adapter? What are the pros and cons of doing that? Seems like I can come out ahead on cost that way.

Ordered last night. Also, picked up Dynamat for door panels. I will let everyone know about my results!

That’s funny, I bought a set of these to upgrade my ’13 Subie. And I guess I’m buying another set now. Good to know, thanks!

So.... I did the tweeter upgrade. Thanks for the awesome instructions...
I ended up fucking it up though... I dropped my panel puller down this vent... any idea where it goes or what to do?

Looks like part #2 maybe. I bet you’ll be able to fish it out (hint use a vacuum with a small enough flexible hose attached to it) since the part appears pretty flat I doubt it escaped too far.

Thanks for The quick response. I’ll be trying a vacum and clothing hanger tomorrow. I tried some chopsticks tonight and didn’t feel it.

You guys all using an open ended 10mm wrench to get to the bolt on the tweeter closest to the windshield? Even my shortest 10mm socket is still too tall to use.

Yes, had to use a small open ended 10mm for that one, couldn't get the socket wrench in there. It was kind of a pain.

I used a 1/4 inch drive set from Craftsman. It was a bit tight but I got it done.

It's ALMOST all you need for the interior of these....stereo, pillar trim, back wall storage, speakers...

I don't know if its been mentioned here or not yet but a couple of tips from my install last night.
The bolts that hold the tweeter in place look pretty similar to the bolts that hold the A Pillars on, but they're allitle bit shorter. If you accidentally swap them the shorter bolts wont be long enough to reattach the a pillar. Also the A pillar bolts can be kind of deep in there so use a deep socket wrench where as the far bolt on the tweeters right under the windshield will need a regular old open end wrench to work best. Not enough clearance for a socket or even pliars.
Also the passenger side has the sunlight sensor for the auto headlights if you have it so that complicates things FYI.

Started with the tweeters, ended up doing all 6 with the kicker speaker upgrade from Crutchfield.

Very pleased with the results and all for less than $250.

So my Tacoma is currently in storage since I'm away for work right now. This is the options section of my sales sheet. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if I have the stock tweeters or the JBL tweeters.

    Thanks, TWScreenshot_20180903-114911_Gmail.jpg

Is your truck Manual or Automatic? Manuals don't come with JBL but not sure if you could get P&T on an Auto without JBL.
