I love the city, but I couldn’t live there forever. My ideal situation is living out in the suburbs and commuting.

Oh the food is incredible. I had the best burrito of my life in the Mission District the other week.

Sounds like you need to hit up a pneumatic supply company. There should be one in any big industrial district. If your compressor is cycling on and off as much as you say it is, you need better than a HF dryer. Id look nowhere else than Ingersoll Rand. I have a Klutch dryer from Northern Tool on my compressor and it does well for what little I use it but its probably too small for your application.

Right now I’m running straight out of the compressor with an in-line regulator. Eventually I plan on plumbing a solid copper line with several drops for clean air, and normal air with drain loops.

My next big purchase will be a good drier for paint work.

You’re forgetting I live in the Bay Area and the cheapest space I’d consider a “shop” rents for $2,000 a month for less than 1,000 square feet.

I actually did look into it. Everything is too expensive.

I did find a shipping container “creative space” I could rent for $400/month.

PVC is a big no-no for shop air. Black iron is OK if your sure youre running super dry air as it will rust up quick if not.

Is the area so important to you that moving out of the area is not even considered? What if the company you work for wants you to relocate to another branch in another state?

Those prices for living in California would really bother me. If your skill that you schooled for is in demand in a cheaper area, why not experience something new?

Its great that you have a plan, but be aware that "life" has a way of making you change those plans.

I don't think a shipping container is going to work out. There are very few places that would allow you to place one on your own property.

    I am aware.

He has a pretty good plan, but to do the things he is doing now is unrealistic to do in the subs. Not saying it can't happen, but it would be much more enjoyable away from the big city.

Why build a rock crawler in the big city? Out east, with a degree in computer science you could land a job in Raleighs Research triangle and be close to mountains and the beach for exploring.

Christ man. A run down two bedroom apartment in San Francisco next to my school goes for $3,800 a month.

It just amazes me how much homes cost out there. How do people even save for retirement?
