Hi I have a Mobtown Offroad Transfer skid plate that is new and has been coated with bedliner. It is for trucks with the exhaust rerouted.

EDIT: I am looking to sell it for $200 plus shipping and will drive a little to meet you.

Rey- just offering a suggestion - You will be so much happier with the reroute and will regret not doing it. Trust me!

Thanks for the suggestion. Is the clearance that much worse? Well I just ordered the transfer case skid for non-rerouted exhausts so I'll see how it goes. I'll sell whichever one I don't use in 4-6 weeks unless this one sells sooner.

Too many but also not enough mods
Just reroute the exhaust, should cost you no more than $125

I was afraid of doing the reroute mod at first too, but after hitting the stock crossover pipe several times on roads I could easily go on without issues in my stock 1st gen decided that was enough. Also, that thing is a fire hazard! It picks up sticks and is the first hot thing to touch the grass or bushes when straddling brush so it was a no brainer for me out here in the desert (yes, we get wildfires here too!).

If you do decide to do a reroute, put a flange on the pipe next to the Y section to make it easier to take the pipe off if you ever need tranny work and make a little heat shield box out of aluminum flashing to go around the plastic transmission control box (I used stainless zip ties to hold it on).

    Good luck!

Reroute you will be glad you did.
If your new skid is 4-6 weeks out, cancel the order .

With the non-rerouted skid, I lost 1.5" of clearance. I'd have it rerouted but I didn't trust any local shops and it's a new truck. Lol.

I dont have a good before pic, but here’s one after the reroute and with the transfer case plate (see how clean the bottom lines are? Imagine sliding over a dirt berm or rocks with that vs the stock pipe sticking down below the level of the plates...)

    7D005DDE-89F4-4C37-BA97-E4CDD3FC0E65.jpg

Mine has a flange right at the seam between the original pipe and the new reroute - hint: ask the shop if they can bend the pipe using a mandrel instead of a brake (see the difference in the turns?) Mine was with a brake - not a big deal, but some say its better for the exhast with a mandrel:

And here’s my added DIY aluminum flashing and stainless zip ties heat shields:

Thanks for the great photos and suggestions. I may go this route if I don't like the no exhaust reroute version I just ordered. Either way, I'll be selling one of the transfer case skids, whichever one I end up not using.

So one thing I don't get, how do you lose 1.5" of clearance if the end of the transmission skid butts up against the front of transfer case skid. Are you saying there's 1.5" of difference in between the red and yellow lines below?

How I see it we've already lost clearance by having the transmission skid on. See 2nd photo. Does the transfer case skid continue at an angle (pink line) or does it straighten out (orange)?

This is what the stock exhaust skids look like.

The transmission skid has two rearward mounting points. One for reroute and one for stock exhaust. That way regardless of which transfercase skid you have, you still have a smooth belly.

Do you have the reinforcement ribs on your transmission skid?

Here's mine with the reroute. You can see how the transmission skid is up against the frame crossmember now.

I believe it’s cause the transmission skid used in conjunction with the transfer case skid plate is specific for either a reroute or stock exhaust/transfer case skid plate. That’s where the extra clearance comes into. But the crossbar for all three is the same I think. @Mobtown Offroad or @EatSleepTacos may be able to clarify.
