Doesn’t change the fact that I need new leaf springs and am not a fan of the flip kit anymore. Besides.. I basically have air bags already.. timbren bump stops :p

Never heard of them. Got anymore info? Thanks

Edit: just googled them and found the website. They’re also a deaver dealer which is what I’m looking at for springs. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yea he replied first thing this morning. Seems like great customer service. I’m ready to give him some money once we figure out what exactly I need.

Thanks again for the reference. Always happy to support an east coast guy

I like the idea of a aftermarket J hanger that's more stout than the stock ones. Jay's truck is at Ants & his stock ones are all bent to hell.
For what your doing with towing the stock inverted hanger is a much better choice.
Defined Engineering also make a rear cross-support for the J hangers.

Yea it’s a shame everyone jumped on the shackle flip bandwagon instead of someone making oem replacement hangers that are designed for wheeling. Seems like now a lot of people are swapping from flips back to inverted.

Archive garage has a cross brace that bolts to his shackle hangers. At first I thought screw it I’ll make my own, it’s easy enough, but now I’m thinking with time at a premium I’ll never get around to making it and should just buy his.

He also has a shock relocation kit that now I’m wondering about...

I had my hands on the shock relocate and they’re very nicely built and hug the bedsides perfectly. They’ll tuck 12”s all the way up to the top of the wheel well with the added bonus of not having to clock the lower shock mount down below the axle.

A couple years ago, I jumped on the bandwagon and bought a shackle flip kit. Then immediately jumped off the same bandwagon pretty darn quick and sold the kit without opening the pkg.

I wasn’t convinced that there is a true benefit for flipped shackles.

There is a definite benefit. Try getting twelve inches of travel with a stock hanger. Is the extra travel worth it? That is for the individual to decide.

I will remain on the shackle flip bandwagon until such a time as I end up linking the rear. I will assume that a better set of leaves will last longer than the Dakars. If not, then so be it. I need to replace wheel bearings, TREs, Uniballs, etc way too often as it is. I made choices to modify my vehicle, and am paying the price with increased frequency and costs of maintenance. For me to cry about having to replace $500 leaf springs every two years would be absurd.

I built this cock, I have to piss with it.

    Thanks for the suggestions guys.

We went with a MacBook. The school has great Tech support and a majority of those techies recommended the MacBook.

    She’s happy, Mom’s happy. That’s what counts.

    Thanks again!
