NEVER run PVC with compressed air lines. That’s one of the biggest mistakes you can make when working with pneumatic systems. PVC is not made to withstand that kind of pressure, and will explode into a million pieces.

Here’s the big difference of running gas lines and air lines. Air won’t kill you if ran incorrectly.

I WILL retire at 55. I WILL have more money than most people
in this area do at that age. If I had to retire to Southern California, that retirement would only last me 8 years.

    Fuck that!

The cost of living here is higher, but the pay rate is adjusted accordingly. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s still ridiculously expensive here.

If you don’t already own a home here, retiring here is just a bad idea. However there are indeed lots of retirees that live here. Most of them bought their homes when they were cheap in the 50’s and 60’s.

My grandmother owned a small three bedroom one story house on an island called Alameda right outside Oakland and San Francisco. She paid about $5,000 in 1955, or about $50,000 today.

She sold that home two years ago for approximately $750,000.

My 1800 sq ft house, attached garage and detached garage with heated floors and a hoist on 1 acre of land cost me $124,000. Its an older house in a nice neighborhood. Its all paid for. I paid it off in 13 years.

How realistic is it to pay off an $800,000 house on a lot with no room for an out building? I just saw an add for 40 year mortgages. Really?

If you have a skill that can pay well in a more realistic cost of living environment, I couldn't move fast enough.

A mile of run way will take you anywhere.

I am open to moving away if the opportunity is great enough. I like San Francisco, but remember I’m young and inexperienced. I want to enjoy city life while I can, because I damn well sure know that I will never get to live here again. It just don’t make fiscal sense.

My industry is computer engineering. I’m in the perfect place for it, I live half an hour from the Silicon Valley. Why would I move away from the industry? That’s like trying to get famous by moving away from Hollywood.

I understand there are other rising tech regions like Austin, Texas or somewhere South. But the fact of the matter is, I like it here. I grew up here, my whole family is here, and one day I’d like to raise my own family here. As long as I can afford it and be comfortable financially, then I’m not going anywhere.

That’s my opinion as of right now. It very well may change as time goes on.

When the economy pops the next time it's going to make 2008 look like a joke. The cheap money has been flowing for nearly a decade and has driven up not only stocks, but every asset such as houses, beanie baby currencies, classic cars etc.

We purchased a 5 Bed/4.5 Bath 3,500 square foot home I live in now new from the builder for approximately $1.4 Million accounting for inflation in 2005. The house across the street is on sale right now for $1.7 Million. That mortgage will take decades to pay off.

Property prices here are just insane.

Oh they should. They scare me too. Really puts into perspective how much living here costs.

I saw an old house for sale in San Francisco for sale at an asking price of $8,000,000.

I've always put more emphasis on savings than A home. A home is a good investment, but you need to make sure you have something left over to put away for 30 years. I don't like the thought of assuming the house will appreciate so much that it will fund your retirement.

I really don't like the idea that most are encouraging people to work to age 65. that's just wrong.

As long as they want to work, that's fine. If you have to work, that's different.

I will be working after 55, just I'll be working for myself and hours that I want and taking jobs that I want.

It'll handle it, just for how long is the question.

Most tire shops keep the air pressure static. It stays around 100psi.

Our home system pressure is changing all the time. 0 to 125, 125-0 and all over the place.

The plastic pipe does swell with the pressure changes. You can't see it with the naked eye, but measuring with a chap pair of dial calipers will show you the change at different pressures.

Plastic doesn't do well with those pressures all over the place. When it breaks, it produces shrapnel flying at a very fast rate and its loud as fuck when it goes too.

Using plastic for water is okay because when it breaks, all the pressure is off instantly. Remember, liquids can't be compressed, gasses can.

Pex is designed to swell, so its exceptable to use, but just looks half assed to me. Black iron looks the most professional, but sweated Cu looks real good and is easy to use.

Currently, seven states do not tax individual income – retirement or otherwise:Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming.

Why couldn't the Carolina's be on this list. I love that area.
