Squeaky suspension

    Noob question
    Took my dclb 4x4 (totally stock) off roading yesterday on some mild trails and when I got home I noticed my front driver and rear pasanger suspension were squeaking. I figure it's dust so I just sprayed it off under there. The rear squeak is coming from the front leaf spring bushing. I'm wondering if after washing it off should I hit it with some wd40 or some silicone spray??? Not really sure of the difference between the 2. And advice would be greatly appreciated

    There is a tsb for the rear leaf springs.... they will add isolator pads (small flat disc) to the ends. The fronts have known have bad body mount bushings a d radiator bushings.

    That pop could be that the shocks are not tightened down enough and also the c clip on the lower ball joints could be coming loose when suspension unloads and reloads. Other things could be the sway bar coming in contact with the coil spring.

    I’ve accepted the squeeking... Stock, she was pretty good... minor creaks and minimal to none on roads.

    Dakar leafs?! I sound like a U.N. War Relief truck on trails and pulling into gas stations :notsure:

    WD40 works only for a week or two...

    Dude no shit I even replaced my bushings on my Dakar’s and they still squeak. Really pisses me off. I squirt pb blaster on them every couple months that fixes the squeak, but shouldn’t have to babysit $400 dollar springs. Won’t be buying them again.

    Yeah, Its the isolator pads inbetween... I spray em and they quiet down for a couple weeks... I’m coming from a YJ... so I don’t care, I do it to keep my wife happy LOL

    When I bought my Deavers i disassembled the pack and used multipurpose NGLI #2 on the pads and around the center bolt. For the bushings I used white lithium NGLI #2. No squeaks.

    WD40 is better at cleaning than lubricating.

    If you want the squeaks gone pull the pack and grease it.

    it's coming from the front bushing on the leaf springs not the actual leaf pack. Should I use a grease over a lube for that?

    If you can get the grease in there I would. Might be able to lift the truck unload the leaf and pop the bolt out.

    Silicone lube I think will just be a temp fix
