    I bought my outboard used, and the skeg was all scratched up and dinged. It looked like whoever had it just drove right to the ramp and let it drag every time they used it. I've only hit 1 rock so far, and that was because my wife wasn't paying attention. (always a good excuse!)

    I've never hit a rock when I was alone.:D

    Good luck!:pray: My water heater is over 20 years old. When we moved in here, about 10 years back, the inspector said the average life of a hot water heater was 10 years. I guess we've been on borrowed time. With my luck, it will just let go when no one is here and flood out the cellar. Maybe I should think about replacing it. Did yours quit working or are you just doing preventive maintenance?

    It's preventative.... I have rust stains coming out the bottom access panel and the water intake fitting is corroding. Really do not want it to go out at 2 am or a saturday night... Plus there is moisture inside the bottom access panel, so there's water coming from somewhere....

    That is terrible. Where did you get it? Lowe's or Home Depot, or a plumbing supply store? I'm asking because my son works for a Lowe's distribution center and only the "best" get to handle appliances. When you return it, have the store open the box and examine it for you before you load it in your truck.

    Got it at Home Depot... haven't heard much good about the Whirlpool one that Lowe's sells.

    I didn't open it because I needed the closed box to be able to get it out of the truck :anonymous:

    But after this fiasco, I will open it up... don't wanna have to make a third 80 mile round trip.
