riz_atx's 16 Locked, Geared, and Tuned TRD 4x4 "Big Perm 3.0" Build/Biking/BS Thread

So far, there have been a couple of spots that were just too narrow with a turn that I had to bypass or avoid. A couple of these had short beds also exiting. Other than that, i have had to do a few multipoint turns.

You have to really mind your lines when in the tight stuff and know where the corners of the truck are. Or have a trusty spotter.

 

Or have lots of armor like you

 

The armor has been a great investment. I’ve had to hammer some back to shape and even broke the xfer case skid on the last wheelin trip. Here in central Texas, you got to have sliders and skids.

Truck is heavy and has come down hard numerous times.

 

Why did you pick the long bed? Any regrets?

 

I wanted to put my mountain bikes in the bed without taking my wheels off. Also, I’m 6’1” and so is the bed so I thought I could sleep in it if I ever needed.

When I go on longer trips with more than just me, there’s plenty of room for stuff.

hahahaha i wish man! I did have a good streak on my last few business ventures and im super thankful for that! I could have probably taken off longer too if I didnt spend all my money on truck mods!

 

I just love how random people assume they know others money situations. It humors me since it makes no difference how much money someone has. I'm typically broke with pretty low income but I manage to put my money where I want, how I want. Having more would be nice to get my truck closer to where I want faster but it will get there and it has come along much faster and farther than I ever expected up to this point. Putting in 60hr wks for 4 months helped that a lot also.

 

You got to pay to play! Thats the saying right? Im going to be pushing for a job here this week so my break after 22 years of consecutive slaving in the corporate world is almost over. Its been amazing and i feel super fortunate. I also feel recharged and ready to put my head down to make that next batch of money so I can take the next break one day hopefully. There really isnt a replacement for working hard to achieve what you want in life. Took me too long to realize this

 

Whatcha gonna get? Anything interesting or a big enough company where you need some minions ?

 

Probably devops engineer or site reliability engineer... or maybe software engineer. Along those lines. Hopefully not as a manager! lol

Well I am finally not sore after working out this past saturday. Thinking i may go workout again today. Starting another training course today as well. I will probably send out my resume today as well. Sadly, my time off is over.
