Ok gotcha, I have done mine 4 or 5 times and torqued to the 18 Ft Lb Spec and thankfully had no issues at all removing.

Oh it is easy when I can get the thing off, but I can't. So until I brake it more, I'll let them figure it out.

Ok, so they told me the price of $160 included changing the spark plugs, that Toyota recommends it on the Tacoma every 30K miles. Is that legit, anyone done that?

But I'll have to take it in tomorrow for them to look at it to get the cartridge off.

Spark plugs are changed at 60K miles. Your service department should read the owners manual. 34232398-72A9-41C1-8E12-E37FB5015193.jpg

This is the 30K service, as you can see no recommendations for plug change.

As previously posted this is a good thread for maintenance and service.

Just my opinion but I would recommend a fluid change. Front and rear differential, transfer case, engine oil and filter, if you have a manual Transmission. Automatic transmissions don’t need a flush and fill at 30K.

Spark plug change at 30k is for the 1st and 2nd Gen Tacoma, ours are 60k.

Ya I am thinking the person you spoke to didn’t have a clue.
$160 including a spark plug change, that’s a good deal for dealerships service department. The usual charge is around $389 for service and spark plug change at a dealership. Tell them you would love that price at the 60k service.

Yeah, you'd think if they needed to change spark plugs at 30K, it would still be covered under warranty, so that'd doesn't make sense. I'm going to confirm that's the price to do spark plugs tomorrow and when he tells me yes, then I'll tell him I'll need that in writing for that price, because they aren't due until 60K, and I want the price they quoted me, ha.
