Did the same thing on our cross country trip. We went for 40 days, got back on 8/26. Kinda sucked with two of us in a 5.5’ bed, but certainly cheaper than hotels! Edit- the cut-out is for a 5gal bucket portable toilet. (Which was a life saver, being on the road for so long!)

Hopefully Crater Lake basin was cleared up when you were there, it was hazy and took away some of the “wow” effect for us due to the forest fires all over out west. Still beautiful though. We hiked the Watchman’s overlook.

Do you have two batteries or do you just go for it with the crock pot?

I camp with very little. Basically all of my camping gear fits in my Pelican case. I’d like to get a RTT someday, but I like my setup for now.

I've done trips like that in the past. We called it "vehicle backpacking". And of course motorcycle campers do it all the time!

Best way to camp imo, sometimes we get caught up in having all these gadgets for camping to be more comfortable or convenient.

Most of my stuff is compact because I do camp with my motorcycle sometimes. Haha

    This was my last bike

Motorcycle camping really appeals to me except for the actual riding the motorcycle part. I’m very conservative by nature and prefer having steel and airbags around me on the highway. Too many other stupid people driving around. And I’d probably never get enough experience then to be safe on the trail. But it sure looks like fun!

I've only been riding for about two years now. I do occasionally spill it on the trail. I do try and avoid overly technical trails because of that for now.

    Just the basics
I bought my Yamaha TW200 in hopes to explore more remote places than I already go. Didn't happen with the FWC due to the weight. Now with a lighter rig I might be able to bring it.
