Typical break-in period on most vehicles is 1000 miles. Usually they'll tell you not to go over 4k rpm and vary your speed. Cruise control is fine, just don't run at the same speed for hours. Engine braking is beneficial to seating the rings.

 

Oh, yea, on my sliders I use self etching and truck coating. These specifically.

 

Adaptive cruise control is a little different as that varies the engine speed. You should be fine but I’d read the manual anyways.

 

@Arcticelf remember your flex ramp challenge? My Subaru Outback rental failed, but it only lifted the rear tire a couple inches off the ground. I was impressed.

Thanks for that. What's the best way to prime/paint, should I hang them or just do it on the floor of my garage?

 

I little of both. I typically degrease and scuff with them flat. Then hang for the actual painting.

 

I think the outbacks are rockin a body lift under there.

 

Wipe them down with a rag and acetone before painting as well.

 

I’m really digging the car. It drives very similarly to mine, but sits a little higher off the ground and has a lot of interior room. It doesn’t feel big at all yet is roomy

 

My sister in law bought one in Jan of 2017. I went with her to help negotiate since it was her first purchase. While she was test driving i was drooling over the other cars. David stopped by while i was there to pick something up from me.

She loves the car. Said the forester looked like it would be too small
