Dealer only gave 1 key

Not quite...18's can use the fob key or the separate tailgate key. I only wish it was just the fob for the tailgate from the factory...

Are you saying all 18's have power tailgate lock standard??
I know my 2017 came with it but it was a port added accessory. I did not realize that had changed.

 

They do not...if they do, then I was robbed!

 

Get the Pop-n-Lock. If it is not the same as OEM it is so close one is a heck of a knock-off.

It is a pretty easy install as well, from my understanding. Again mine was installed by SET.

Mine is triggered on the Driver door lock. If I were installing it I would put it on the passenger door. Just my preference.

Hmm.. Never locked my tailgate, shit never lock my front door..... Its good to live in the sticks

 

Return the truck and get a new one.

The Manual Transmission 2K18 only come with 2 Keys At first I was a little perplexed about that but then wait Im not planing to take a Date to a fancy place in my Tacoma am I? or am I? I might just do that one time for the hell of it but of course I'm going to get it Muddy as Hell you know the kind that like MTNmann showed us all a picture of his and watch the Valet's expression when he sees it.

 

Exact same thing happened to me.. same story as yours above, and the key guy never showed up for our appointment.. I threw a fit over it and they offered to send the key guy to my home or office. I was told that *some* dealers have in-house equipment to program the fob and cut the keys, but other dealers do not and use 3rd party contractors for this. It took about 30 minutes for the key guy to program the fob and cut the new key.

 

Which state are you in? I walked in and spoke to the service department and they were looking for my appointment and realized that I was being helped by sales. Horrible.
