Yep. I think our Yukon XL is either a 16 or 17 with about 20K miles. It’s paid for so it’ll be a good chunk towards something else. I liked the LC but it’s being updated for next year globally (TT V6) and it may before we see it. We’ve looked at everything. I’m not touching anything by Land Rover and am tired of my German stuff (too finicky electronically). Heck, we might wind up in a Subaru at this point.

Best way I could describe it is something like a computer generated frequency tone, believe me you don't wanna hear it!

Land Rover was a great vehicle. Too bad it was sold to Tata.

Honestly, Tata gave them what they needed most - money - lots of money. While they are always been capable they are still British vehicles and we all know that means - you either better be handy with a wrench or very close to someone who is. Been there done that and never again. :). I’d like to see a day where LR and Jaguars are reliable vehicles but I’m certainly not liking to bet the farm on it.

A bit of sarcasm there with the specific note, but a clarinet nonetheless.

So I just bought a TRD Sport. Nothing wrong the last 228mi. I’ve read at about 10 pages of the 238. Is this a OR problem or does this extend to all models?

Aside from Nav, I can't imagine using any of the other internet based apps. I'd simply use my phone.

Seriously, how often are people using their truck to buy a movie ticket. I wonder if *anyone* has actually bought a movie ticket with their truck.

Mostly OR, but others as well. That's my understanding.

My response to the whole movie ticket presentation from the dealer was “uh, yeah, uh, no” or something really intelligent sounding like that....

As far as my truck goes, it's far from simply sounding like tire or road noise. The noise actually "turns on" when I hit a certain speed.

The lower frequencies could be mistaken with tire or road noise. But the higher frequency is definitely an on/off kind of thing at certain speeds.

The sound can show up at 10 miles or 10,000 miles.

So, when the tsb states "some off road models fitted with the XXXX rear differential" blah blah (paraphrased)... that's not actually the case?

That would be correct. So far Toyota is my not fixing those in the TSB. Ask @trazerr if his non OR model whines.

About mile 20 for me ha There was a thread earlier how Toyota paid to fix a guys clutch that went out after 11k. A wear and tear item. Thousand of dollars. Yet they refused to pony up $200 to fix my howl after emails, phone calls, dealer visits, etc. makes no sense to me when I had an engineer admit my howl was the same as the rest. Just blows my mind.

Is it “within an acceptable range” and “a normal characteristic of the vehicle”? I am sorry for your troubles and I’d be all over them if I were you. I’d be up late at night in my skivvies eating Cheetos (visualize that folks) sending emails to corporate just because I can. I did that to Akio Toyoda and Jim Lentz over my second gen for like months until they fixed my driveline vibration issue. I bet they hate my guts. I’m a marked man at virtually every dealer and get that “special” treatment when I walk in. It kind of goes all silent and I get those glances. Yep, I was a royal pain.
