Thats a good looking truck! I was thinking about going with the 3" body lift also. I already have the 3" Toytec ultimate lift and was wanting some more height . I don't wheel my truck either, I just wanted to fit some wider tires without dropping another $1500.00 on a 6" lift. Why do you want to get rid of the 285/75's?

    I would personally go with a 33x12.50 before a 33x 10.50, but that's me.

Thanks......I meant 12.50s i dont know why i put 10.50s......but yeah the suspension with the bodylift worked fine and it was a cheap way of getting extra height insted of dropping the 1500 on the 6inch lift. I just feel like the 285s dont have that wide aggressive look if ya know what i mean. but it rides good and sits good the way its lifted.

I agree, the 285's don't look agressive enough on my truck either. I would have jumped on that thread here when another member was trying to sell his 5 Mickey Thompson 33x12.50 MTZ with less than 5000 miles for $600.00....what a deal! I knew they would rub on the factory body mount so I didn't jump on them. :(

How do you like the body lift? Does it show big nasty gaps under the cab? What did it run you for the lift and install?

That looks good. Did you consider gap guard?

That was a awesome deal on the tires....but the bodylift was installed when i got it already, it does show gaps under the bed thats the only way you can tell..im going to order the gap cover ups to cover up the space....i dont think the bodylift is as bad as everyone puts on to be.
now the suspension i got for 150.00 and me and my buddy at the bodyshop put it on in prolly a hour and half max.

    Lots to come
    Hey Mike

I had a '99 that had the 3" body lift on it when i bought it also. A few years later i added the 2.5" spacer lift and aal. Everything was fine with mine as I didn't do any off- roading either. The only thing is that the extra lift caused the cv boot to tear and leak.....Had to get that replaced

Do your self a favor and take that body lift off when you're putting the suspension lift on. Not only will a body lift make your truck look hideous, but structurally speaking, the truck becomes quite sketchy.

Any kind of suspension lift that doesn't use a front drop bracket can and will cause issues down the road with CV's due to the increased angle. Body lifts will not cause any of these issues because you are just lifting the body off the frame and not messing with the suspension.

There was a recent thread on here that showed the corrected angle after the drop bracket installation for an RCD 4.5" lift.

The only problem I had with a 3" body lift was when it was installed on my 1998 Wrangler. It gave some trouble on the manual 4 wheel Hi/Lo shift lever. It was always kind of a pain to get it in 4 wheel drive.

no thats not true. it does fine for every day driving without any problems, and no the bodylift doesnt look hideous, most ppl that see it doesnt even notice the bodylift. so i dont think it does, so therefor im a fan of the body lift for a cheap way to get extra height.
