Just got one a few days ago and I love it.

It's my first "smart phone" ever.

    Anyways.

Almost every time I go into the camera to take a photo it says "insert SD card" I have a 16gb sd card in there and I have to reboot the phone for it to take the picture.......very annoying....

    And task killer

Whenever I open the task killer it says I have 11 apps open when I'm only using music, browser, text and like phone...... Why?

Oh and I have the app music junk

Basically you can download any song for free and supposedly it's 100% legal.....I tried downloading a song and after I was done.....I could find the song....any suggestions?

    That's it for now

hmmm... i'm also having a hard time finding where my phone hides things i download. i believe that instead of having a download folder, it automatically trys to organize for you. for example, songs should be found in the music app. downloaded photos in the gallery etc... although like i said, i've never reallyfigured it out. you can uninstall the task killer. i used it at first too but it was explained to me this way. android is based on linux. and when you aren't using an app, no memory is alloted to it, it basically kinda sits in a state of inactivity until you use it again. so even if you have all your apps open it should not affect your battery life (unless one of the apps was poorly programmed). like i said, i'm no computer guru but thats how its been explained to me. i've compared battery life with and without the task killer and they are the same. as for the camera, i know if you "undock" your sd card the only way to get your phone to recognize it again is a reboot. but if you are not undocking your card then there is an issue and i'd take it to VZ

I'm not sure about the Droid since I'm a Windows Mobile fan but I can tell you some devices (computers, cameras, phones, etc.) will have problems reading a SD card if they are not formatted to the correct file system.
If you plug it into your computer, right click on it's icon in My Computer and go to properties to see what file system it is. Like FAT, FAT32 or NTFS.
HERE is a link helping in formatting.

As for app killer, no idea. But I can only guess they are background system processes, just like a computer, that should probably not be messed with.

Just a bunch of old crap
Yup, format the SD card (you can do this through your phone, don't remember where though) and it should be good to go. I formatted my 16GB on my Droid when I first got it and it does fine.

I bought my phone through dell and it only ended up being $20 with rebates and such so I sprung for the $80 "no questions asked" warranty and I'm glad it was still a great deal and if anything ever happens to it ill get a brand new phone shipped to me

Bought mine new in November of last year. It was apparently covered under the manufacture warranty and i'll be getting a 'new' refurbished unit to replaced my current phone. I liked the fact that it was a hassle free experience and took right at 15 minutes over the phone to complete, although I am still pretty disappointed in the fact that it failed so soon in the first place.

Froyo is quicker but I'm overclocked so that might be it. you get 5 home screens instead of just 3 and there is alot of other stuff too that just makes it all in all a better experience. I wouldn't recommend jumping to Froyo unless you are experienced in rooting and messing with the software on your phone. it took me a few tries and complete phone wipes to get it to work.

Well, a good bud of mine is an experienced computer programmer, so he would be the one doing the rooting. I'm not even going to touch it when it comes to rooting or 'hacking' the OS is any way. Thanks for the info though! I'll probably give it a try on Monday when the new phone arrives.
