I'd love to have a fuckin 427 SS, a 70 Chevelle vert (I'll even take the lowly 396), a 65 Buick Riviera GS, a 73 Super Duty T/A, or any number of muscle cars, but all those are pretty expensive nowadays. Yeah hard to beat the sound of a V8 attached to a chambered exhaust, but until someone drops an LSx into their rig I think we're just gonna have to lower our expectations for what sounds we can produce. ;)

Man up and get your truck fixed. Don't be so passive and take a service writers word for anything. Talk to the shop foreman if you're not satisfied. There are TSB's for all of your issues

he's full of shit dude. I have none of those issues. I'm pretty sure I've seen the kazoo thing here
and a couple plugs in those holes resolved it. The squeaky leafs could be that the u-bolts need to
be torqued - I think to 75 lbs, not sure on that amount though. The little chirps you'll here at idle may
be that your fuel pump has an issue.

I worked in a gas station when I was in high school.

The owner was a pretty decent mechanic.

I had to give him a ride once, and he was pointing out all the problems with my beater car by the sounds.

"What should I do?" He laughed and told me to turn up the volume on the radio. "See, all fixed"....lol

Sorry man, but your post reminded me of that ride.

Come on , no desire to even try it to find out ? Oh well ,a silent Tacoma would be much better for me because all 4 and 6 cylinder engines sound like toys or lawn mowers the louder they get . It must be an age thing .

Find out what? No 3.5 will ever sound like a cup car.

About the only performance type vehicle I've never heard in person is a land speed racer.

And several straight 4, 6 and 8 cyl units, and some v6's can sound pretty darn good. It takes more than a muffler though!

If a ride doesn't get up and go, I too prefer it to be quiet. Noisey yet slow never has been my cup of tea.

I did not mean to rile anyone up . all I ever said was I thought my Tacoma's transmission and engine sound with the windows rolled up ( battery motored up lol)while accelerating in the higher rpms , sounded similar to the sound clip from the cockpit of the nascar I linked . It is more of a high speed sewing machine sound . Debating good engine sounds in my mind IS an age thing . But I digress .

Don't do it.....you might be hypnotized by the sound.....and the next thing you know, you will start craving tofu.....and organic pomegranate smoothie's, and attending fundraisers for the Daughters of Bilitis...
