Caught a mess of brookies up at the top of the lake near where the Little Magalloway comes in, and a bunch of chub from off the point of the island, but I got totally skunked on Salmon this time. One of the people we were camping with caught a decent one, about 14 inches or so, but that was it. But he and I snuck up lake early early on Sunday and caught those brookies, so we had trout, baked beans and bacon cooking by the time the girls were up and about.

None of us caught anything impressive all weekend, though. That 14 inch landlocked that he hauled in was the largest one all trip. We did drink a lot of beer, did a lot of swimming, and spent* a fair amount of time in the evenings sitting around the fire sipping whiskey or rum and smoking cigars, though.

*-translation- 'missed a lot of prime fishing time'

I went and picked up my axle nuts today from toyota..it was a different guy than the guy yesterday. This guy had grease under his nails..when he looked at what I was picking up he looked puzzled that they had to order it. He said "We should have tons of these" I told him that's what I said but inventory said "Zero" in the computer...He just shook his head and gave me my parts. I knew they had to have a bucket of them...they do so many trucks.

Kids do this for the first 5 years or so...bring home all the things your body has forgotten how to fight off...and then you get fresh immunities for the next 10 years....That's why I never eat from community chip bowls etc at a party with kids unless I get to it first and transfer a handful to a plate....Cough, sneeze, snot, fingers, chips, mouth, lick fingers...repeat..that's how kids eat chops at a party.

Devon,I got to ask this question I don't mean to be a douchebag or anything ……I just don't know.
why do people blank out their license plate when they post pictures of their trucks/cars ?

Where did you camp? I've never fished that area, normally stick to Magalloway at the spillway or Rapid up there. Fly fishing or spin fishing?

    Sometimes I do sometimes I don't ...

I think most people do it so its not broadcast across the internet in fear someone might do some digging find their address and steal their truck or stuff...

There was a thread maybe a month ago about someone posting on IG a pic of their truck going around a gate in AZ to get access somewhere that was closed. The #overlanding community on IG went nuts. He didn't black out his license plate and it was reported to park police or whatever division it was so they could get his info for trespassing.

So I guess if you do illegal shit and brag about it on the 'gram, black out your plate.

It's an established campground, but the sites on the island are minimal. A picnic table, a fire ring, and a flat-ish spot where you can pitch a tent. They're wide-spaced with plenty of privacy, though, so you're not right on top of your neighbors.

Goddamn it. Now I'm never finding more of it...

I've switched to a product called "Finish First" that comes in a similar tin and has similar application instructions. Some research online said that it was pretty much the same as LG, and so far it seems to work pretty well.
