    Hey guys!
I’m Alex. Recently moved up here. I have a 2014 2WD Tacoma with the 5 lug suspension and I was thinking of getting her a lift. I have been eyeballing the ready lift... Any good shops in Anchorage that can get it done at a reasonable price?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Just me
Welcome Alex. Probably won't hear much today, most folks are out playing. The shop the offroad guys use a lot for mods and armor is Green Tree Fabrication. Other's will chime in.
If you are new to northern climates, folks will start getting ready for winter in the next few weeks. Being a 2WD guy you may want to keep your eyes open for decent winter tires.
Make sure you get outside, this is about as beautiful as it gets.

    Sandy

Another one is Ice Monkey Garage, sometimes Green Tree Fab can get backed up for bigger custom work and not be all that interested in smaller jobs.

    Welcome to the state!

Is it really that bad? Lol
Someone told me that I’d be fine as long as I get some good studded tires and sand bags on top of the rear axle.

I would just say that it isnt the best and you'll find yourself needing 4x4. a lot of slipping around.

Meh. Just learn how to drift everywhere and have some sand and a tow strap.

Don't worry about the 2WD. A friend drove a 5 lug first gen for years here in Anchorage without issues. Get a good set of studded tires and build yourself a containment out of 2x6's over your rear axle to hold bags of gravel. Also, don't be afraid to bust a bag open and use it liberally if you get stuck.
