Thanks for the great ideas about the Toyota jacks and SafeJack accessories! Quick question: I have a current gen 4Runner OEM jack that came with my 2016 4Runner. Any sense if that can work equally as well with the SafeJack accessories? I called the SafeJack guys but they don't know...

I got a harbor freight 1.5 ton racing jack for when I go off-roading. The same jack is used on a class 1 race car that rolled going 80mph in Baja and still works so i was sold.

Do you just keep it in the bed on trips, or did you mount it somewhere? I take it you are on stock suspension as well? I have this same jack, and am pondering fancy ways to mount it in the bed.

Yeah stock susp. I either stay it on top of a spare in the bed or just throw it on the floorboards of the back seat.

Or theirs ways to mount them like this. Was thinking about a bed mount but not worth it for such a small light jack to me atleast.

Yeah, I'm thinking about a mount like that, just to clean up the presentation a little bit. Not sure I need a full chase bed full of stuff all the time though.

Looking for something completely unrelated, I stumbled across @0uTkAsT 's build ramblings and he mounted his to the fender hump with quickfists. So naturally, Imma steal that shit.

Yeah quickfists. Find em on Amazon or your local 4wheel parts store, etc. Not as pervasive as I thought they would be last time I looked for them.

I don't understand the counter-weighting and leverage that makes this possible. Looks like the legs only go maybe 3/4 the width of the car.

We have beefed up versions of these @ work to lift fire trucks! They're good for 18K each & go under the tires. They're so heavy, their motorized to move them around & to lift them. They actually have on-board computer systems to detect too much weight, uneven load, tilting, etc. I think they said they were $40K each.

FWIW I got a 1 1/2 ton jack mount from Weldtec Designs, it took some alterations to get my jack to fit, maybe the alum. 1 1/2 ton jacks vary in dimension? I'm planning on mounting the plate in the bed, probably on top of the wheel well close to the cab, then put the jack in there for off road trips, sorry no pics yet. I also have a jack extension from C4 on the way. I'm planning on the 1 1/2 ton jack as a backup to the factory jack. I also have a 2 ton pro eagle jack with the mounting plate, but it's a large, heavy beast, probably overkill for a Tacoma.

I picked up a 4runner jack to work with the SafeJack accessories but for the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the cap off of the jack ram???
