Now that is cool! Idk about going that in depth, I am still exploring the best option to disperse the data, google maps, .gpx downloads, etc.

I also need data. I am playing with @JimboAnz .gpx files he sent me, but that is the extent of my off road routes.

    I have:

parts of Uhwarrie (which already has a sweet interactive google maps)
    Chestnut Mt
    Hurricane Creek
    Musterground Rd
    Horsepasture Rd

Have you looked at openstreetmap.org? @EricL has found some of upstate trails mapped out on there, though I'm not sure about gpx data or anything like that on there.

I love maps period. Used to keep maps of all the states and places I've lived on the walls until the wife finally vetoed them.

They do have some good stuff on there, I'll have to explore it a little and see about downloading .gpx.

My main goal I guess is to have one thread on here that'll be a dump for this data with a web viewer to view all known runs in the NC, TN, SC, GA areas, and also download the .gpx to run on your phone or gps.

The other concern is publicly dispersing the data to a lesser known trail and it becomes overrun. IDK if we will have that issue in our region, but I know other regions run into this. That is one of the reasons that people are hesitant to share their data.

I'm pretty sure that's what happened with Richland Road. That's one I never got to run before the locals had it closed to the public.

That could be why he charges $50. Keeps the less dedicated people out and gives incentive to keep the data private. When someone pays dearly for information, they are less inclined to distribute freely.

I have an app called Avenza Maps and a GPS enabled map of Busted Knuckle that I didn't get to try out because I missed the Busted Knuckle trip. A guy on here turned me onto it, and his buddy makes the ORV maps. Wish I could find the website again -- or even remember who it was I was BS'ing with.

I swapped my truck out for the car. Pretty stoked to see what he does with the taco. I skimped on the car for a basic detail. ($100).

Told him to go nuts with the Tacoma.:)

A hundred bucks for a detail isn't too bad. My truck needs it badly. Well, it needs me to stop smashing it into things, too.

    Random K02 Tire update:

Elected to replace my tires with new ones, same size in advance of my big trip this winter, (labor day sale, rebate, etc).

After 33,000 miles- my KO2’s had ONLY 5/32” of wear; 10/32” remaining tread! This is 6,600 miles per 1/32” of tread- by far the best wearing tire I have ever owned. Quiet too!

I wonder if Headstrong warranties their products? :anonymous:

j/k, a little contact cement should fix that right up.
