Perfect example earlier today why I need more power, I went to pass somebody who was going 30 in a 40, which that means you're supposed to go at least 50, and I got my front bumper next to their front door before I had to slam on my brakes because of oncoming traffic. Any other car/truck I would have had plenty of time to pass without worrying about oncoming traffic but unless they sped up as I tried to pass them, there's no reason this truck should be this neutered

Sorry bud, either you didnt press the pedal down hard enough or it was NOT a safe space to pass. I pass people all the time on rural roads and these trucks can haul ass if you floor it.

    This.

Going 60-90 pretty quick while passing is not hard and happens plenty fast.
This is easily the best passing vehicle I've owned, and I'm including a 90s V6 Lexus in that, that car did pretty good. This truck does better.

Go look at 1/4 mile times, it's comparable to a 1st Gen Raptor.

I passed someone who was doing 40, I hit 70 in just over 3 car lengths.

While I'm always down for more power, these little trucks move when they're in their power band!

Waiting for the first person to get a TT setup and complain about gas mileage.

    It’ll happen.

I believe it may, but I think there is some sort of adapter. I’m probably wrong but maybe not. I don’t know.

Well if Mat says this TT set up will be faster than a Supercharged Tundra I'll be very happy. Having come from a SC'd Tundra that would run a 12.8 second 1/4 mile @ 115 mph the Tacoma is an absolute dog. Then I went and threw full armor and heavy 33" tires on it making things even worse...

I don't see any drag racing in my future but having an extra 100 (or more) hp for highway cruising and overtaking traffic on tap will be a welcome addition.

I'd be most interested in the "quick spool" option he mentions. Any power bump at 2250(ish) rpm to help with highway cruising is where I know I would see the most benefit.

Curious as to the effects as to overall reliability, adding significant power over factory levels stresses mechanical tolerances any way you slice it. Regardless, very excited at this possibility for the manual. Could really make this truck an even better daily for my needs

I’m hoping we see a noticeable power increase by 1600-1800 rpm with the base kit. I’d like for it to feel like an Ecoboost F150. I’ve also had 87-88 Ford 2.3 Turbo stuff and still have a 2.3T B2500 project that got put aside. The 88 Thunderbird Turbocoupe with the little IHI would hit 18 psi at 1800 rpm. Even with a T3 I could get 22-24 psi by 2400rpm. I don’t need peak hp numbers to brag about, I want to feel torque in any gear.
