I took mine in to the dealer yesterday for the 0062-18 update...completely new feeling. Excellent shifting, power where it needs to be.

That's only going to work once. If anyone wants their voice to be heard that didn't get the email act fast.

Nvm. Email was removed from url. This will let anyone take it as many times as they want but I wonder if they will disregard these. Could be filtered out since they will no longer know who was taking it.

Yes I have the miss on 87 octane. I have run premium for almost a year and a half because of it. No problems with it otherwise.

Funny thing is I did not notice how bad the shifting felt until I drove my Wife's 2012 4runner, 1st time since getting the truck, the 4Runner felt like a go-cart compared to the taco. I love the truck but the shifting sucks and the tranny makes the adaptive cruise control feel like it is going to explode the engine. I would have thought MPGs would be better with the CC on but not in my case. Neat feature but kind of useless with current tranny programming.

I did receive the Survey and filled it out. Here is the actual text from the email.

    "Hello,

The reason why we are reaching out to you is because our records indicate that you shared feedback about the driving dynamics of your vehicle.

We would like to ask you a few questions to understand a little bit about how you use your Toyota. Your response will help us in improving the product quality and design of our vehicles and your opinions are extremely important to us.

Thank you again for your time and valuable feedback.

Just dropped my truck off for the 15k service. Talked with a service advisor and brought up the TSB. Says they will check and report on the Work Order, so I'm hoping they will apply the TSB :fingerscrossed:

Turns out the OP of that link actually removed the email parameter from the url. So that link should work indefinitely for anyone as long as they have the survey up. That being said they may disregard surveys taken without an email attached to it. They have no way of knowing who the submission came from without the email.

    A couple things
I ripped them a new one about it.
My Tacoma is our 5th Toyota, but if the interstate cruise control crap from this truck isn’t addressed in future model years, you can bet your ass we’ve bought our last one.

Lots of trucks out there, and lots of competition in my wife’s cars class too. She drives a Camry, her 3rd one.

Hmmm...if my truck is "hunting for the right gear", I best pull over 'cause I'm clearly over the legal limit.

Got the survey from Toyota and I was brutally honest. Between the crazy transmission and the slowest throttle response ever on these trucks is just not right...Toyota needs to put their shit together on this issue and they know it. Or they should pay us all for OVTune....

Ive ran regular and premium. And while it seems a little better with premium, Toyota Corporate said premium is NOT required to run normally. Curious if anyone knows if the TSB fixes the 'miss' as well.

I got the TSB update for the ECM and I'm running 91 Octane and I can feel the difference in shifting it holds the gears longer feels a lot more responsive and all around feels better but that sudden drop to 4th gear is very very noticeable hopefully it'll work itself out with time I only have 3,200miles on my truck.

My family has had Toyota vehicles for years. Multiple Camry's, corolla. I had a Suburban to pull my Ranger 482 VS bass boat. I decided to by a Tacoma TRD with a V6. I like the Tacoma style, but I honestly think my Wife's V6 has more get up and go (horsepower). I'm probably exaggerating a bit, but her Camry has power by just pressing on the pedal. The Tacoma is experiencing the hunting transmission infinitely. The only way to get power on the Tacoma is by pressing the gas pedal more than 65%. Then it seems to have plenty of power. And yes I have to use ECT button most of the time just so it will drive like a normal vehicle. Then the friggin touchy brakes. Apparently who ever designed these brakes does not drive a 2018 Tacoma in stop and go traffic. Sorry for venting, but possibly this T-SB will resolve part of my issues. Not sure there's a solution for the brakes. As far as i'm concerned, Toyota dropped the ball on the Gen3. I've seen other post of using a Tune solution. In my opinion, I should not have to buy a tune program, just to make the vehicle drive normal. I only have 3000 miles on this 2018 and if these issues are not resolved, I will be trading it in for another brand vehicle. I will say that we have no issues with the other Toyota vehicles we own. Why Tacoma's have these issues seems to indicate that thorough testing was not conducted. Or possibly I was not the intended audience for this vehicle.

Well, I waited for a month to finally get into the dealer for my 5k service AND the TSB update. So I sit for almost 3 hours and go to check the status of the work. The advisor comes back and tells me that its still sitting in the service bay with NOTHING done yet. So I loose my cool and tell him I could be doing alot better things than sitting at the dealer waiting to get my brand new truck worked on. So the helpful advisor personally goes and gets my truck and gets the tech right on it AND the lube done. Now the caveat, while helping with the tranny issues, the miss that the previous tech said was a tranny issue IS NOT! A "miss" isnt a tranny issue, as I told them all along. Guess Ill invite a Toyota engineer to drive it for about a week, and hopefully he runs it off a bridge before bringing it back! I told the so-called service manager that I was tired of hearing excuses, just fix the damn truck. Or Ill drop it off on the lot and they can worry about paying the note!

I'm pretty sure you can't just drop off a vehicle you purchased from a dealership and not expect repercussions. Might want to think this through a bit more.
