Why did you clean the maf & iac and replace the tps? Was there a code? Any codes now? Are you runnin' a K&N air filter?

 

I was getting tps code and when I did that .After that was running fine for a while then started getting a low to almost stall idle so I cleaned throttle body ,iac and maf . Stock filter no codes

 

I hate to ask the dumb questions but the MAF sensor is in the right orientation? I almost installed mine backwards.

Dumb question # 2, you used cleaner specifically designed for MAF sensors right?

Finally, dumb question #3, did you check all your hose clamps on the intake. I had a loose one witch is what caused the Check Engine light to come on for me initially.

 

Maf cleaner was used ,clamps are only on the coolant hook up for iac and main intake hose are all good .Now the orientation of maf may be a issue lol I’m not sure at this point so it’s definitely not a dumb question I will check that ASAP

 

Mine looked like a little scoop with a larger hole on one side and a smaller one on the other of the end of the sensor. The larger hole faces the filter, the smaller hole faces the engine.

Mine also had an arrow on the top. You would think that would be enough for me...................I need a good sometimes though.

 

Nope good mine only goes in 1 way with plug side up

 

hmmm, damn. Wonder if you damaged it. They are delicate. Fortunately not expensive.

Well for shits and giggles I’m gonna throw the old tps back on tomorrow and see what happens then maybe use the thing for target practice at Dave’s cabin

 

And what is a TPS again? Serious question, I am clueless.

Well it was supposed to be factory when I ordered it but did come in a plain brown box not a Toyota box

Well I believe so says yota on it I switch it back tomorrow and check the replacement then cause you can’t read it while it’s on the vehicle

 

when it comes to emission devices..........there is something to be said bout factory parts, the pcm has NO issues reading a factory part... J/S

 

Well like I said it was suppose to be factory and paid for factory but I got it from eBay with other stuff but I’ve always gotten factory from them in the past
