Not too shabby. Folks are coming down this weekend for an event I have next week, and we’re just gonna chill and enjoy Texas for a week.

I mean, I get to enjoy it every day. They’re going to be cramming it in.

Brisket is on the schedule, as is air conditioning.

How’re you doing, and those fish who fail to hide from you and your youngin’?

    Event? Hmmmm...

Doing well, just ready for fall. Heat index of 100+ today. I stayed inside.

With this heat, the fish are hiding. It’ll pick back up in a few weeks when I head out for salmon. I’m trying to get him up for a day this year. I’ll just tie a rope to him before handing him the rod.

I picked up a crossbow for him, and am hoping to get him out hunting for the first time this year. I got him boots, hats, gloves, vests, and all the assorted items needed.

I’m being raised to Master Mason next Friday. Lodge is making an extra big deal out of it, which is kind of cool. My dad is a Mason and I’d been hemming and hawing joining for 28 years. Now feels like the right time.

That’s why I liked trout fishing in deep lakes. It would be 95 degrees out, but the bottom of that lake is still cold. But I don’t release trout. We eats them, precious...

A crossbow? Did you get him a Bowflex and protein powder so he can get strong enough to cock it? Or is he going to be the hunter and you his guide?

Congrats. But to be honest, I have no knowledge about the Masons.

Too hot to sit and fish, for me any way.

I’ll be doing the hard work for him, it’s 150lb draw weight. He has to aim and pull the trigger.

If you’re interested. It’s very reminiscent of the camaraderie I enjoyed in the military, and rh bonuses are A) no one shoots at us and B) whenever we meet, we eat.

And as for your “hunting partner,” I figured he was the 2Lt to your SgtMajor!

    Thanks for the info.

Definitely on the 2Lt. Thinks he knows everything already.
