Exactly, I only work through email and text messages. I tell every dealer I am only interested in their best deal and that I won't be visiting their dealership unless we can agree on a deal. Many dealers don't do well over email, but those that do will usually compete rather nicely against each other. With excellent credit, a good trade-in and a little time; you can find the deal you want. I have been in sales my whole career and the tactics many car dealers use would've ended my career years ago. The ability to walk away and not be in a hurry to purchase can save you thousands.

I simply do my homework, determine "my" price, and chat. I have one standard line that they either get, or it completely throws them off their game - "I get that this is a business, and you have a certain profit margin you need to maintain. It's business. Either we can agree to make a deal, or we can't. No hard feelings, no regrets. Doesn't mean we can't do business in the future. This deal just doesn't work for both parties."

It dumbfounds the "cheezy" dealers and simplifies the work for the guys that have moved onto the 21st Century.

I'm planning on buying a manual off-road with the premium package. I'd like to get calvary blue, but it says calvary blue is out of stock in this color. It also doesn't list any packages with the manual transmission. Does anyone have any idea of this is just temporary?

 

You'll probably need to custom order to get what you want. The "build" tool online only shows trucks available in stock in your region (very annoying).

 

Is there any way to see which dealer has which truck? When I use it it just defaults to the dealership nearest to me

I really don't get it; it's as if they want to intentionally make it more difficult to find the exact truck you're looking for

 

They want you to buy what’s on the lot, period.

 

Calvary Blue is only available on Pros btw.

 

Cavalry Blue is available for TRDs on 2019 models. 2019 Pro drops Cavalry and gets Voodoo Blue.

 

That's the point though; when you use Toyota's online build tool it will show you trucks that are in your area that match your criteria - it just won't show you which dealership has which truck.

Is there a factory cost for 'TRD Wheel Package'? Found a dealer that has TRD Pro wheels and BFG KO2s preinstalled on a TRD Sport.

 

The TRD Wheel Pkg add-on is a Regional or Dealer install on anything other than a PRO.

 

With the 2019 models coming out now, how long will dealerships continue to stock 2018 models?

 

Probably till they sell out of them, there is barely any difference from the 18 to the 19, a couple exterior colors and a 12v outlet I believe.

 

Can't find a dealer that's willing to cut a deal on 2018. They all said no need to deal. You want it at this price or not.

 

Time to find another dealer.
