Tried everything on my 07 to resolve at the dealer. trans TSb carrier Bearing, the response was from dealer that its "inherant to the vehicle" Many posts on this issue.

I just learn to live with it, as you will too in time. Hopefully your carrier bearing helps yours, as it didnt with mine.

I have the same shudder on the take-off and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. This vid really shows what the problem is. I'm curios if the dealership will fix it. Please post the update on it.

looks like that carrier bearing bracket needs some more support

Wow...that cross member movement sure looks scary. Maybe strengthening the bracket would keep it from moving relative to the vehicle but that isn't the cause of the shudder. It might actually make the shudder feel worse as more of the vibration will be transferred to the frame and cab unless the carrier bearing's cushioned mount (that big, soft rubber donut around the bearing) is also made cushier.

I wonder why the whole assembly wants to vibrate like that though...is it the axle angles? Can't that be fixed by shimming something? Was this guy's truck 'stock', with no lift?

But it didn't look to me like the spline was a problem...it was sliding back and forth rather freely.

My 91 is lifted and I don't get a shutter from my driveshaft like that. I've had to replace my carrier bearing before, but just because the rubber was all ate up. Could be a driveshaft balance problem too. I still don't like the design of the bracket though.

I think you'll find the chevy will also have some incurable problem... hopefully it won't be as annoying as this apparently is.

Have you explored repair under this tsb: "T-SB-0132-08 Driveline Vibration Between 15 - 25 MPH"? The work is covered under the 6/60K drivetrain warranty if they find yours needs it. The fix is a new aft transmission mount that controls the 2nd order vibrations. Your carrier bearing's hopping around like that is probably it just reacting to those vibes (if this is the case).

Have you explored removing the carrier bearing entirely by replacing the split drive shaft with a one-piece? I think the cost will be around $400 (just guessing, really) from Tom Woods. Someone in another thread found a shop that will use your shaft ends and save some bucks. But your truck will be laid up while he's building it and you have to ship parts both ways...have to run the numbers to see if it's the better deal.
