Is that what the narrow slit is for on top of my screen? My 2017 with premium tech package has it.

Mostly an issue with the cheaper 8-track decks....and worn out, over played Pink Floyd tapes....:rasta::drunk::thumbsup:

Sound quality on CD's is amazing! All these youngsters with their MP3's have no idea that the top and bottom of the music they are listening to is not there with MP3's due to shitty compression. They all sound so shitty to me. Even with 320 mp3's, the deep bass and sizzling highs are just not there. Spotify Extreme is decent but still not as good as a straight up CD.

If you are into sound quality, you are playing flacs over a wire or a CD. Sadly, the stock HU doesnt play flacs natively.

MP3s suck. Spotify sucks. You can stream or download 16bit, 44.1kHz (CD quality) or BETTER FLAK files through Tidal. There is just a little bit of loss going through Bluetooth but Tidal is a pretty damn good for sound quality. The week point then is most definitely the trucks sound system.

Right on, i havent tried Tidal yet. Whats been working good enough for me is a samsung tablet with a large sd card loaded with flacs. I use this for offroad nav and other things as well. The only issue is the stock HU doesnt recognize the tablet over the USB port so I have been playing it over BT. The quality is very nice but as you mentioned, there is a little loss from the BT. it works for now but eventually, i will get a better HU that supports flac and android natively.

That's been like that since at least 2014-2015...

I don't know how the hell it happened, but it's never been of any concern to anybody before...

My 01 is hella rustic. It’s got a TAPE ADAPTER that plugged into my phone, I never upgraded the system, dumped all my money into suspension and teh tubez. I would have to buy a new 5 dollar tape adapter every few months because as we all know the cable shits the bed at the connector. Maybe it’s because I was so used to that truck since the beginning, that coming over to the 3rd gen, my complaints are minimal. I just get in, start up and drive off, my phone never leaves my pocket. And magically Music starts playing where it left off...I don’t have to carry music in disc form in a book of cds, or even deal with the hassle of carrying an iPod (oh god the horror) I don’t even have to skip tracks because my playlists are dope AF because I only listen to dope AF music. And I don’t have to adjust the volume, it’s always like 4 bars from max. It’s truly a “fire and forget” situation, I’m all about it.

Mine was like that since new. I would guess that it is installed after the assembled cab is dipped for rustproofing. It is weird to see though.

I have a cd player in mine never use it though! I’m not a fan of some of the tech stuff lately I’ve used the voice commands and sometimes it works other times i say a command and it won’t recognize and just guesses, like the time i went to mohegan sun i stayed a hotel and wasn’t familiar with the area so i must have said take me to mohegan sun in 20 different ways but i got directions to advance auto parts near me lol!! And i have a iphone and always have to disconnect and reconnect it to play or use it after getting out to get a coffee or whatever quick shit off truck and restart unless i plug into the usb and i just got a replacement phone and no difference what gives:frusty:

Common issue. Go into settings and select language to ALGONQUIAN. It will then recognize Mahican words, like Mohegan sun.
