Hmm, yeah, you've got a point, but all the same....i guess I'd rather have the TMIC be an alternative option rather than the only option. Wouldn't be bad for some, others wouldn't want it

A turbo does increase efficiency and MPG on paper. Pressurized air is more dense and cooler than non-pressurized air. It's not going to increase the efficiency naturally aspirated 3.5V6.

However, a turbo 3.5V6 is more efficient than a 5.3ltV8 that puts out the same power. I think that is where people are getting confused about fuel savings.

This! I have a bumper and winch that I would really rather not take off to put on an intercooler. Butttt if the Intercooler goes behind the upper grill I would be a happy camper.

How is pressursurized air cooler? If anything it would be hotter because your compressing it. My scuba and fire department air tanks get really hot when there filled with room tempair and when they cool down the air pressure decreases in said tank.

Intercoolers cool down incoming charged air.

I'm pretty sure the Gay-Lussac's law of pressure–temperature would disagree with the "cooler" part of that statement. For a given mass of air, if the pressure is increased, the temperature also increases. This is why intercoolers are used for the compressed intake air, when the air is pressurized, the temperature also increases.

Compressing a gas increases it's temperature. Yes, heat exchangers aka intercoolers, either air-to-air or water-to-air, can be used to reduce the temperature. The charged air never gets as cold as ambient. The other post was implying that compressing it made it colder than ambient.

I forgot to exclude ice/dry ice/evaporative cooling on the heat exchanger. In those case the charged air could become less than ambient but only until you run out of cold stuff.

Lmfao for real. Too many people don't understand that you don't see very much of a return on the cost of aftermarket parts, if any at all

But a $6k mod plus install adds $15k to the value, right? That's what a dealer would have you believe.
