Ha! Guess both our states suck. I remember them passing that bill in Michigan as if it was gonna help the average citizen to be forced to buy booze within the state. Just restricts what you can get and price fixes.

Someone has got to be able to get these.

That’s the plan! I picked up my first bow (Hoyt carbon element) back in April and have been shooting 2-3 days a week since. Was grateful to take my first mule deer last weekend at 25yds with a heart/lung shot. Thankful for the opportunity to feed my family, and greatly look forward to chatting with you all. What’s on everyone’s schedule for the fall??

Kill stuff! ;) My elk season started but I havent heard any bugling yet. I need to get out and see if I can get something stirred up! I have till the end of the month though for bow, around here the peak of the rut is during the closed portion right before rifle season! so from the 15th Sept on its going to be game on!

That would be crazy if it turns out to be self inflected. That guy seemed to have it all.

2011 Hoyt Element (Carbon), 28" draw, 63lbs - picked it up from a local guy who took great care of it and was happy to pass it onto an eager newb.
Trophy Ridge 5 pin sight, Fuse quiver and stabilizer, TruFire finger release. I'm shooting Scheels Outfitter Vendetta Pro arrows #350 (made by Victory) and have enjoyed them quite a bit.
I "cheaped" out on accessories, as I wanted to ensure I'd enjoy it before going gang busters, but this addiction is real and I foresee my wallet getting skinny as the year continues on.

I have a deer tag for the Black Hills (South Dakota) where I'm originally from that I hope to fill sometime around Thanksgiving, otherwise rifle elk in late Oct here in Colorado!

I don’t know too much about those, but I’ve been getting more intrigued with those types of releases. They say it help with punching the trigger and consistency. I have pretty decent consistency but every little bit can make you better!

I’m a super dedicated bow hunter but like a lot of people time is limited due to family, college, etc. I plan on hopefully getting a few deer and maybe even a bear if I can finally get one in range during bow season. Best of luck this year bro!!! Keep us posted with game camera pics and any good luck you have.

I shot my first deer with a bow in '91 and have only been gun hunting 1 time since. My buddy asked me to gun hunt his farm about 3 years ago and bow season was closed during gun season, so I went. Killed a doe about 30 minutes before dark. Have not been gun hunting since. Well, coyotes don't count.

The only reason I even use a muzzleloader is because both places I hunt, the landowners allow others to hunt. I understand since it’s not my property. But, I try to always use my bow.

This year I actually plan on bringing both during muzzleloader and rifle season. By the way, I own rifles but I never use anything other than my muzzleloader. Even during rifle. I don’t get to hunt much because of family and school since I live like 1 hour each way from my hunting spots, so I try and make the best out of the time I have.

Closing weekend for my zone this weekend. Heading back up tomorrow to try and get it done. Hopefully see some shooters this time around instead of a million Does.

I’m kicking myself for not getting an archery elk tag this year. Part of the learning process, but my buddy and I have been within 30yds of more bull elk in the last three weeks than we have bucks. Calm bulls who haven’t appeared to be too concerned of our presence. I believe most of our hunting/scouting has been slightly before rut - they’re stirring up now.

It's honestly night and day vs a wrist release. It will take me some time to get used to a new anchor point, but honestly I love how it feels.

Yes, had to bring it up.

Not enough to have to totally reinstall it though. Just had to slide it up a tiny bit. Maybe 3mm.
