@dirty deeds IIRC you linked me to Allen's offroad for the engo winch, yes? Something to be aware of if you order one...

They are by far the cheapest at $389 vs. $449 everywhere else. After the transaction went through, my cc statement showed a $449 charge. I contacted Allen's. They seemed genuinely surprised and refunded the difference immediately. Maybe a glitch in the sysyem, but check your statement either way.

This is odd to see. Maybe they're a reseller of sorts.

So the truck is wheeling great right now, but I have some issues popping up that will need to be addressed sometime. Just thinking out loud here. Opinions/advice appreciated as always.

My front suspension is on its way out. The 881 coils aren’t up to the task anymore. I spent all day yesterday slamming bump stops. Plus, I have 60-something pounds of winch on the way.

Thinking I’ll just bump up to a different coil. 882 is the same 500# rate but a tad longer. 883 is the same length as 881 but 590#. Not sure what’s best. I don’t want a ton of lift or a coil that’s too stiff and won’t flex.

My Dakars are not happy at all. They are a pretty flat spring out of the box, but these are getting tired. My passenger side bed is obviously lower than the driver side. Looks really funny.

If I’m going to re-do the rear end, I’d really like to have some travel when I’m done. That’ll mean making new shock mounts on the axle and fabbing some sort of upper mounts either on a new x-member or up through the bed.

Even then, I’m not sure if you can get a pack that will give any more travel using the factory hanger location. Need to do a lot of reading.

Current options that I know of... ome dakar, AP standard, Deaver j59, custom Alcans, junkyard Chevy swap. Is that all? There has to be more than that, right? Right?

Also will need to do some cycling and have a bump stop that will actually function.

    Or...

Since I just said the truck is wheeling great right now (which is what I want it to do) maybe I should just throw some more dakars in there and call it a day. Probably would last a lot longer without the shell and with some bumps.
