Working with the NEST thermostat to help it learn. This is my 6th Nest product. Cost a bit more but the quality seems to be there.

Doggie Jail. Gulp. for Repo.

    Good morning to everyone.

Just came in from weeding the church garden. it is going to be hot in the DC area this week.

One of my days to jog a couple miles, let Repo out for it on his own reconnaisance. Raked a little, worked on a lantern, unfolded my Kirkhams 6 person, Springbar tent to check out a dark spot from what I could remember. Not there, so folded it back up. Going to take it with tomorrow and camp a night at least. Lost a bid on a stove from Sweden that is #2 on my holy grail/wish list, sold for over a grand. Gotta save a little more and quit buying other stoves inbetween. #1 will be twice that and a little more if it can be found even.

Closed my pool today. Seems counterintuitive with it in the 90's but no one will use it for the rest of the season. Will have to say the water was still warm. That hasn't happened in 25 years of ownership. Usually August nights cool the water down quite a bit.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
How interesting - I was swimming in the Lake of the Ozarks today and was amazed how cool and refreshing the water temp is -- usually this time of the year the "lake" is like jumping into warm bathwater.

Spent some time in our pool yesterday and went to a party at a neighbor's house. Lucked out with thunderstorms all around us from about 1 in the afternoon and finally got some rain about 7PM. We'll keep our pool open for a few more weeks.

When I would go to the lake in the summer, I also noticed after maybe the first week of August the water had started cooling off.

Seems like a lot of money but not that bad for collecting collectables.

Just got two of the old Rebels off of E-Bay that I use in the local lake for walleyes. Unfortunately it seems that there aren't that many there anymore, but these particular color lures just seem to out fish any other lure that we have ever used. They stopped making this color variation over 35 yrs ago, so I'm glad when one pops up here and there and I can add a few to the stash, plus they are still reasonable.

    Good morning Susan, gang,
Forgot to mention, along the route I take jogging, little over half a mile from home, I discovered where a very large flock of turkeys seem to roost. Droppings under the tree much smaller than chickens. I've scared them up three times now. Very surprised by their flock size, musta been 30 to 40 birds. Did not see them this morning, maybe I was just a little early. Rancher by where they roost has a small meadow ditch dammed where they roost, so that may be the draw.

Hi, all. New guy here. Started collecting my SS benefits and Medicare. Now recuperating from foot surgery. Just spent 3 months in a wheel chair after my ladder fell down a stairwell with me on it. Broke both ankles on the landing.
Please, ladies and gentlemen, have a spotter if you must use a ladder. I still do small handyman jobs alone but no more extension ladders!

    Welcome to the porch edit.jpg

Glad your on the mend Robert. The older we get the longer it takes to mend. Welcome to the crowd. Great group that hang out in here. We have a very sweet young lady that stops in to check on us and make sure we're doing okay (Susan) and "ahem" being good.:). Pull up a chair on the porch and join in.

    Robert: 63 Studebaker Champ w/a 64 Avanti R1!!!!!
I forgot what the Champ was, but remember the Avanti R series engines. If I remember correctly they went up to R3 and were supercharged.
Post some pics. if possible, I don't remember the last time I ever saw one of those.
