I’m going to sleeve the bolt holes and try to prevent this from pushing up into the frame.

New beefier crossmember to replace the one I just bent. Supports the tcase skids which I made as well.

Also had to integrate a Park brake mount.

Need to add some meat to the skid plate even though it’s 1/4” I don’t want it to budge one millimeter. And maybe another gusset between the tube and the angle iron. On the front side.

Totally gonna copy this design...my RAT skid is held by 6 self tappers.....i have 2 left on one side and the other side has to be welded on. I grind it off every time i have to do the t-case oil..lol. This should help

Are the pics working? I can’t even see them now.

Also make yours out of .250 wall tube and use a big bitch piece of angle iron on the frame as I did. My first design wasn’t enough. Even this needs more gusseting I think. I want it to be stout. I don’t know how you guys get by with weak skid plates...mine was sill somewhat beefy before and I managed to destroy it within a couple trail days.

haven't tagged that skid much. the front diff skid gets beat. curious why you didn't weld it to the frame? I was thinking of going that route?

    A few tweaks
Your real problem is that extra 10" of wheelbase over a standard cab ;-)

Didn't your dual case adapter clock your tcase? I was hoping to do that with mine.

I'm a skid plate minimalist - I like skids to cover the vulnerable areas like a small but beefier version of the stock tcase skid. I don't like to lose clearance.

I learned the hard way once what too small looks like when I pulled out a tcase drain plug on the trail!

I like the compressor mount Jamie..think I’m going to steal it..also the washer bottle, I’ve seen, and I’m sure you have too, other guys use one out of an older truck..mounts to the passengers side of the engine compartment, behind the air box-ish..I think it’s a 97 model one? Just food for thought..

Plated the frame tonight then hit the bush with my boy. Welds turned out a little rough but it’s tough.

Tg kit doesn’t clock it. Pretty much zero room to clock it anyway.

Yes I have seen that, I can get my hands on one but I prefer this nalgene bottle for now. It works well.

How does the crossmember unbolt if it’s welded on

But why would it need to be unbolted? I just think welding it on would be sturdier no? Honest question. Yall know i aint no damn fabricator...lol

Definitely would be sturdier. But then my transfer cases can’t come out. They’re right in front of the crossmember. And another reason is because you never know what’s next. Maybe next week I’ll have to change it again. I’m very glad I didn’t weld the last one in...
