    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Started dinking with the battery tonight... of course it's never simple. The battery tray I bought was a little oversized. So I made some adjustments.

To each his own I guess. I understand where you coming from. Lots of parts out there that cost so much where I say fuck that too but I'll spend the money for certain things that I want, not just on my truck. I don't plan on ever selling my truck so she gets love, vehicles these days are designed to be thrown away. Only thing I would ever ratchet strap on my truck is something being hauled in the bed. :p

Yeah for a battery tie down, $85 is crazy, but for that battery tie down, not bad of a price. Like I said earlier, I'm a machinist so I know what something like that would cost. You think $85 is crazy for that tie down, you should see how much many of my knives are. And that's nothing, you'd faint if you knew how much I've spent on tooling for machining.

Powder coat costs more. I'm not a fan of bare alumn, oxidizes & won't look shiny & purdy anymore.

Yeah, I'm just gonna shoot it with mud and dirt anyway. Might shoot it wrinkle coat black first but I doubt it. I only though his prices for coating were high but the part itself is pretty reasonable for what it is and how much more adjustability it allows

I don't bother with that stuff with the truck, aluminum's oxide layer is very protective anyway. If it was a car I'd make it look nice. Price for PC was way high for a part that small, you could PC it yourself much cheaper and have it PC'd locally cheaper too

I do, I care about looks. My truck ain't for show but I do try & keep it nice, it's in my blood.

As for PC not around here, plenty of PC shops around but many will charge you a min for setup. Same with anodizing. I've done both but always try to avoid it. A cheap PC kit I may buy one day. Alumn anodizing, nope ain't doing that at home. Anodizing titanium, no problem, all setup for that.

I used to mod flashlights for people. Did it for like almost 10 yrs. It's how I got into machining.

Lol, the flashlights were long before vapes were available. Funny though, I messed around modding vapes too but only for a very short time. The vape industry is so crooked. People/companies blatently copy everything. I came up with this little jig for winding coils & sold hundreds of them. Quickly got copied & everyone started making them. Yeah I know patent blah blah blah is what everyone told me, I'm just a hobbyist, I don't bother with stuff like that. :)

What was the funniest is that China even gave me credit for the copy. darkzero was my sn on other sites.

I could think of another word instead of "collection" that ends in "ion" :spy:
