    That's an amazing deal.

There's no quick-connects. The dealer usually removes the driver-side taillight and taps into the brake light there. This post goes WAY overboard, but it gives you an idea of the most work possible to do the job: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/camper-shell-wiring-step-by-step-picture-load-warning.279665/

You leave the bed side rail covers in place. The ARE caps cover these completely, and they're designed to sit on top.

You WILL have leaks at the front of the cab until you seal it up. The entire front-middle piece at the top of the bed has gaps on each side that need filled, but before you do, you really need to remove the entire trim piece and caulk underneath it with RTV or silicone sealant, stick it down, and then seal the big gaps. The way the cap sits, water gets around there and seeps in. My ARE dealer has been a hassle with this issue, since it's bad truck bed design and no fault of the cap. I ended up taking it off myself and liberally lathering the area with RTV. No leaks now.

From my experience. I sealed the front corners and that worked. But water runs underneath the top bed rail caps. Some people pop those off and run a bead of silicone down there before putting the caps back on and that solves that leak. If you do both youll probably have 0 water.
Theres a ground wire for the third brake light that my installer secured behind the drivers tail light. That corroded and my light would flicker. Maybe hit that with some fluid film or something

Looks like the new version alu-cab canopy fits a lot better than the older version. Can't wait for ours to arrive. When you installed the canopy, did you install the brackets on the side bed rails prior to mounting the canopy?

ARE CX Evolve, dual vented windoors, LED rope lights with prop switch. Only had it for a short time, but so far so good! These new CX Evolve have a frameless rear window which makes it look pretty clean.

I am thinking about getting the exact same one. How much did yours cost? Also how long did you have to wait for it?

Its was 2800, hurt to pay that for the cap... but I added all of the extras with the lights, prop switches and keyless lock. Im sure I could have saved some money by putting those extras in myself. They tied all of that into a quick disconnect, so hassle free if in need to pull the cap off.

I was 4 weeks out, but had been hearing they are backed up and its more like 6-8 now

Would you guys, or anyone else reading this, be able to measure/tell me what the interior height measurement for your caps are both at the opening and in the main space?

Trying to figure out how much head room Ill have with various setups and shell options so Id like actually inches instead of the common "lots of head room." Been searching all over and I havent been able to locate info on the 3rd gens.

Anyone got a black truck (OR w/ flares)with a bedlined cap?

Came across a smoking deal on a cap, but, I need to find a way to deal with the color.

Waiting on some prices for color match.

A google search pulled some MGM with the OTR (bedliner covering from ARE), but no black Tacomas that I saw.

When I was researching paint, vinyl wrap and bedliner pricing for the same scenario; all my quotes were in the $300-$600 range. Paint and wrap were on the higher end, the bedliner option was the lowest and that was with a 'friend discount.'

For me it came down to the purchase price needed to be sub $1k for me to even consider a non color matched topper. The day I was planning to order a new top a color matched one within a reasonable distance from me popped up on Craigslist. It did take a year of watching the used market though.

Love the look of the ARE CX! How is the quality? I read a review from a year ago that they were cutting corners on some minor things. Have you noticed any leaking?
