That seems about right. "I made a bad decision so let me sue someone".

There's deer all around my neighborhood as well as armadillos, raccoons, opposums already so I wouldn't be surprised if a bobcat was lurking as well. We can co-exist with these animals just fine but people focus on themselves too much and don't seem to realize we tore down these animals homes and they don't have much choice of where to go.

 

The only armadillos I've seen are the smashed ones on the road. I wanna see live ones!

The people sueing the landfill sound like the same people sueing Houston for the floods.

Like you bought a house in a concrete jungle next to the water.

You can’t be mad at Mother Nature for doing her thing.

The very first time I saw a live Armadillo in the wild was while wheeling at Wolf Caves and I stopped and videoed him and took some photos. It made my heart happy to see him living in the wild since usually you just see them on the side of the road.

 

We prefer the name "tank rats."

 

I mean it’s true.

They release water from dams upstream all the time and it fucks up our land. All cause people cry that the lake isn’t high enough or too high for them to fish in.

They don’t care what happens to the farmers downstream. It’s water. It’s gotta go somewhere.

We don’t sue anyone for that tho.

 

A majority of the people who flooded werent anywhere near the 500-year flood plane and still flooded. Wouldnt have happened if they didnt release the water. I agree that if they didnt release it and the dam/levee failed, it would have been a fucking nightmare. Cant blame that on the people who bought those house. Now the people next to the bayou that flood everytime it sprinkles, thats on them.

For sure. Force majeure and all that jazz. Act of God is what they will say. In which in this case, i agree.

 

I think that nobody could have truly prepared for Harvey and that the leaders who had to make that choice to release the water didn't make it lightly and definitely made the best decision they could have at the time.

I understand that people lost their homes, and if insurance won't cover damages because of the release then I could see them suing to try and rebuild. If they have insurance willing to cover it I would think they should just work on rebuilding and try to move on with their lives
