Those look like shit. Like rc truck tires with a crazy design to look cool but not to do anything. There's no consistent direction to any part of the design other than the middle blocks having a staggered almost straight across pattern. They are like a bogger paddle design but way less effective because they aren't solid. The side lugs don't even have a consistent direction so instead of them being vertical or slightly forward bite, they are staggered forward then backward so if you were driving forward, every other lug helps you and every other lug hurts you. The sipeing even sucks. Looks like they are only a few mm deep so a few thousand miles down the road and you loose those. Yep, pure shit tires ...

I don't know about "real brakes" but that is the reason. 17s are very common off the assembly line for that reason.

I just want a tire that is tough as nails, grips for days, isn't swamper loud, and is round. Is that too much to ask? Still very undecided and the time is getting near.

The only thing in there you can't have together is "loud". All the best offroad tires give no fucks about your sound comfort level on road.

I'd rock the fuck out of krawlers if they were a little cheaper. A KM2 has an almost identical pattern, just more street friendly. Km2 is still the best radial rock tire I've seen in person and better than a lot of bias tires as well.

I didn't say loud. I said swamper loud. My km2s are "loud" in a sense that they make noise rolling down the road. A couple weeks ago, we were heading back from turkey bay, and Tim passed me on the interstate. I could hear his tires from the other lane over my tires and radio. Haha. I shit you not.

 

Speaking on a few points here and in regard to your IG post of adding tread cuts to your tires. Noticed the KM2s I have from @Jibbs have some very shallow outer sipeing. And we all know they suck in the rain!
Thinking of doing this myself. Coworker has a tire cutting tool since he runs dirt track cars.
