Go to the website bobtheoilguy and learn more than you ever wanted to know about oil. Short story, 10K is a cake walk for synthetic for normal driving.

OMG, another oil thread to discuss the ill-fated merits of 10,000 mile oil changes. :frusty:

I drove a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid for 258,000 miles, changing the oil per the manual every 10,000 miles, before selling it to my brother for $1000. At that time, it was using maybe about 1/4 quart between changes. He drove it to over 300,000 miles before the transmission finally went. Guess the oil change interval was a secret plan of Honda to ensure the engine wouldn't last.

Anyone who changes their oil more often than the 10,000 mile interval (for normal driving which 99.9% of us do...) is wasting their time and money. But hey, what is peace of mind worth? :crapstorm:

I'm pretty sure the OP doesnt really have an oil concern. This thread was started out of boredom I would guess. Since OP just became a member today and all 4 posts of his are in this thread, I would say just play along.

    You're probably right.

Until tomorrow then, when someone else comes along and starts a "when should I change the oil" thread......

Asking car/truck enthusiasts about oil changing sounds similar to people who argue for feeding dogs a vegan diet. They love jumping on “the longest living known dog was fed a vegan diet”. I’m sure that dog would’ve lived a happier and as long or longer life with a wolf diet.

Just because your uncle Bob smoked two packs a day since he was 12 and lived to 100 doesn’t mean it is good for you.

Ok new Jeep in the driveway and now I can have girls look at me, not just hot dogs like in tacoma’s. Take my advice, Jeep it all the way. Better off road 2.

Just don't forget to charge it every night. Oh, and you don't need to worry about oil changes.

Awesome, now I just need dual battery conversion so I don’t run out of juice on the trail. Who makes an aux batt tray for this? I had one on order from pelfreybilt but that soy boy ripped me off and also can you mix agm and lead batteries? How much do fisher price sliders cost.
