Question regarding the install video posted. Have y'all upgraded the included hardware? Also does installation require drilling the or is it 100% install into existing holes?

Also just ordered a set. I ordered them based on RayRRWs word that the new ones will have the extra reinforcements. It would sure be nice if they also decided to upgrade the hardware with that extra $10 they got from us...I also only received $15 off with the promo code.

There seems to be some negative feedback on build quality, especially from a bunch of self-proclaimed structural engineering gurus on youtube. I don't plan on bashing the hell out of these on the regular but I've had some close calls with some stumps and rocks in the past and I'd just like some decent protection. If I were building a straight-up rock crawler to bash around in I'd spring for one of the better-known brands but I tend to take it pretty slow and try to finesse my way over obstacles. I feel like most people with newish ~$35 grand trucks will probably do the same.

I asked the same question on his FB accoubt about getting the new version with the gussets and added tube at the rear. This the reply I got.

Then he replied to my original email on tacomaworld and this is what I got... so I’m confused

Update: I just got off the phone with RRW and was told the ones we will be getting will have the added supports.... but it’s going to take about 3 weeks to get them.

Sweet! Thanks for the update. 3 weeks is still better than most the other places. I forget which ones I was looking at but they were at like 17 weeks

Yeah I know... three weeks is nothing compared to litterly everyone else that makes them. When I talked to him today I told him I wasn’t as concerned with the time frame as much as the build quality of them.

i ordered the SDHQ sliders for dcsb and they were shipped within about 3 1/2 weeks. not bad since i would expect those to be built to order.

By looking at the install video and the pictures the angle has to be 20 or less. The angle between the tuning and the sheet metal is barely acute. Pardon me if I’m wrong.

I’d totally get a set but I need sliders with more of a step for my wife and daughter. From the video and pics it looks like it barely sticks out at all.

Do these stick out far enough to prevent door dings?

That’s why I want them also. Maybe the op can post up some different pics from different angles.

Do you have pictures of how far out these stick out from the cab? I don’t plan to bang on sliders too much on the trail but I also want the added protection against door dings.

Go to page one of this post. Watch the video. It has some better side shots to see what it looks like.
