Yes sir it just caps the end. Most of the ones I’ve seen marketed only beef up the actual mounting area where the bumper contacts i decided to spread it out more to tie even more frame together. Andy sent me a set of I believe Pelfreybuilt bumper to frame tie n brackets last year. They were just flat 3/16 plate bent to fit from the front of the bumper mount back to the frame. Me being me I couldnt leave that alone so I cut and installed vertical and horizontal gussets to them as well.

No sir. I haven’t looked at the rear as of yet other than the suspension stuff. I’m trying to prep for a winch, if i can ever figure out which one I want, i may even weld n a cross brace frm frame to frame to tie into the cradle. I need to revamp the rear suspension I’m just thinking simple, shut up Andy, and will probably go with hd Dakars and B110’s. I just need to beef up a little wth all the weight I added to the camper and I’d like to look at a steel rear bumper with dual swingouts

I’ve only looked at a few at this point. Smittybuilt, HF, warren yes too much, and Engo. The latter is the winner so far I will have to look at Superwinch.
At the same time I’m considering taller tires, possibly matched to the truck and different sspension options for the camper. It’s all rolled in together like with a winch I need to consider one strong enough to pull both the truck and camper

I have the Warn 16.5 ti on my work truck...sure, a little too large for your application, but I also have a much smaller.one on my work utv. The one thing I really like is they standardized the controls...I also have a Warn on the front of my 24' gooseneck trailer and it's the same. Some guys at work bought different brand names so, if their control takes a dump they have to do repairs on the spot. Not that you would carry an extra control, but they are pretty easy to find locally.

Yes probably 9500 or 10k winch. Trailer is relatively light so that should be good

I've used nothing but Warn winches on all my Rock Crawlers and on my last Jeep I had a Warn XD 9000 winch with 150' of cable

Ya, that’s what I was thinking. Those of us that have been around remember it before pilot bought it and screwed it up. It was called the outpost. Now just the resturaunt is left. But at least we still got that. When Teds bullpen closed the resturaunt closed also

synthetic open weave winch line doesn't last that long especially around rocks and tree branches

Synth is cheaper and easier to maintain. I don't crawl over rocks like you used to, Chuck.

No, the pelfrey front bumper didn't come with them, they are from relentless fab, I think.

I meant rocks and tree limbs debris on the ground like what you'd find on trails such as the Rubicon , Sierra Trek and the Dusy

So, the update on the truck situation............
I got a call from Gieco on tues. and they wanted a statement. “ your customer hit me and you need to pay to fix my truck”
Sir we need a recorded statement of the events.
“OK, I’ll tell you again go ahead and record me”
No sir,we need you to tell me what happened
“I am not making a statement.”
Well we need you to tell us your version of events because our customer says he usnt at fault.
“ What? Fine, I’m calling a lawyer then”
    ———
Next day they call saying they will do the right thing and pay. They just need to send out an appraiser. Well, to late.
I’d already called an attorney that didn’t return my call, but also my insurance. They are going to take care of it. To bad for the stupid lizard company. I woulda settled for just fixing the truck, but now I’m pissed to they are gonna pay me for lost revenue too.
    Fuck em.
So had my company come out to appraise it yesterday and got started on the repair process today by getting an alighnment. I paid for this, but will get reimbursed.
    Fuck the fuckin fuckers.
