What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Got a new rack and PS lines on my 08 during frame swap too! Along with steering shaft and radiator hoses and thermostat .

 

Where did you get that grill?

 

Yeah I did to. But 3 years ago I bought hankook A/Ts for last Tacoma that were 275/70/18 10 ply and they cost me 670. Rotated and balanced and wheel swap out. Now on my new truck the 275 will cost me 1300 after everything and 265 will cost me about 1100. But one guy that I called said he can do Falken A/Ts or Hankook 4 ply tires for less than 700. Never had 4 ply so I was just wandering. And he said he could knock another 50 off if I buy 4 hankook.

 

Installed these, now to mod my OE set...

Went back to my woodcutting spot for another 72 16" rounds. Brought the doggo this time.

 

Got the Prinsu installed without any complications.

 

Had the ridge grapplers installed yesterday. So far, so quiet. The half worn KO2s were on the loud side in comparison.

 

Finalky got around to welding on my frame reinforcing plates. I made a pettern and cut them out witj my plasma cutter a while ago but just now knocked them out with another project. I cut them bigger that the marketed ones to tie more of the frame together

 

I did this today, new set of Baja Design Squadrons

 

Installed my new Rhino Vortex Rack. Pretty easy. Just a matter of careful measurements and equal tightneing on both sides as to not shift the rack. All aligned within 1mm. I'd call that good enough.

 

Did a CMC for a local TW member. Nothing too terribly exciting.

 

You stull using the store bought plates or making them

 

Store bought plates. I just have my "customers" buy BAMF ones. I really like that they're laser cut, and only $18 shipped. Fit very well. I've used hand cut ones one time and it was a little more work getting it all to fit snug.

 

For future reference/future purchase, what was the most difficult part of install??

 

I would love to see more pics if you have them. This is on my short list. What thickness did you go with?

 

It's was really straight forward for me. I know some have have difficulty with the holes lining up but I didn't have that problem. Folded some towels up to hold it up off the spacers and tightened down one side at a time since I didn't have help putting the rack in place. 3 hours start to finish.
