I think in light of this perhaps a requirement to be listed as an official vendor of the tcbob forums should require that no billing take place until the product has shipped.

You know, kind of like Amazon and most other major retailers.

The Federal Trade Commission would have something to say about it also since online sales were add a few years ago. You can make a complaint on their website.

Also, receipt of payment. And lead times expected at purchase are another good thing to have.

That sucks for everyone involved. Too many people got screwed. It isn’t the customers fault.

New orders taken could be fraud? Especially the last couple days/weeks?

I have some pelfrey gear on my truck from last year. Now I almost feel dirty with it on there.

Sucks what’s happened to everyone who trusted in them and then to see them blame it on their customers.

At the wishes of the moderators I’m going to keep this as civil as possible.
I purchased a first gen bumper in November 2017, I was lied to month after month after month and now I know why. The kicker...they blamed us “the people who paid and filed claims”. The funny thing is the lies just keep coming. The only honest thing I’ve heard is we’re filing bankruptcy. I’m a blue collar guy and a student so moneys tight for me. Roughly 1000 bucks isn’t much for most but for me that was long days/OT of labor. In addition there’s so many people with way more money here then me in this. I just can’t believe this...
There were so many people on here just swearing up and down that they were gonna do the right thing? Where you at?...

Is it possible to make a class action in order to qualify as an amount that would be accepted by bk court? I mean I just don’t feel like someone just taking my money and then that’s that.

I honestly don’t really know how this can happen but here we are.

That's a good idea but they would have to figure out something for the "custom" orders. It would at least help out the TW community and the others he moderates.

So if there was a drop in sales, does that mean that the "overlanding" fad is on the decline now?

I have no dog in this fight. The people that are still supporting them should be beaten with a bag of dicks. They took a lot of money for orders with, what looks like, the knowledge they were in financial trouble. That's not only bad business, that's shitty people.

Hell, I can start a fab business and take money....even though I can't weld and have none of the tools that are required for that kind of work. My price is only $500 for anything you want. Group buys will be 25% off :D

Cash only and it can be sent to Take It Dry Off-Road

Based on current and previous bankruptcy filings- I would speculate the owners have not liquidated their accounts to refund a single person. I bet they have plenty of cash on hand- and will likely resurface with yet a different company...

If anyone needs a set of 2nd Gen DCLB sliders from Pelfreybilt, I have a freshly powdercoated set sitting in my garage. Willing to help a brother out who lost theirs as a result of the situation. Located in San Diego.
