Just tried the code and unfortunately the the promotion has ended. Thanks for the write up and link to the camera. It definitely will be useful when off road.

In the process of this also. Just bought a switch from Rocker Switch Pros. Guessing it's going to be on the large size, but we'll see. I don't mind a little dremel work if I have to.

    https://rockerswitchpros.com/product/vjd2-u66b/

Ends up being under $30 for the switch as you need to buy the switch body and the switch activator, which you can customize.

    :fingerscrossed:

All DPDT switches are essentially the same basic plug schematic on the back. The center left and right plugs, for this install, would be the black wires off the harness. The upper and lower left side would be the red wires from the harness. The red relay wire goes to the upper or lower right side depending on which switch is the front camera. You can easily trial & error it.

If you have more plugs, like a 10 plug configuration then you have backlights and such. You can refer to your wiring diagram that comes with the switch.

My guess is you can wire up just the front camera switch. You need the full kit as the basic one is the rear camera override. The full kit includes the front harness that then taps into the rear override to input the front camera source. When the switch is off the screen behaves normally and will only display the rear camera in reverse. When you select the front camera it pops on, so one switch should work.

I believe this is the OEM size for Tacoma’s, but I didn’t use this switch.

I hear ya, as I don’t tow much I don’t really need the anytime reverse view, but I figured a day would come when I would need it and the difference of a dual rocker verses being limited to just a front camera wasn’t worth it to me.

Good point Dave, especially since it's virtually the same price and double the functionality!
