What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Thanks! I’ve had one on every vehicle I’ve owned. It’s a Dragon Surf brand logo decal. Got it from a local surf shop, but you can get them from Amazon.

Just picked up my Tacoma last week. Started with dipped side badges and added some lettering decals. Also installed some Westin HDX drop steps. I have a faux pro grill and a pair of @mesojdm turn signals on the way as well!

 

So, you just put it on top of the standard skewp decal?

 

Did a vinyl wrap on the chrome ring for the grille. Love it.

 

Headlights look awesome

 

Big step in the dual battery and dometic cfx40 set up. Decided to use panel mount blue sea breakers to keep the hot wires under some sort of cover from overhead water.

 

I do have a manual transmission and i know that area in the engine bay is slightly different then the automatic, perhaps that's why.

 

Sounds like it might be a quality control thing. And everyone that I've talked to has been a 3rd gen MT OR. As am I.

 

Interesting, now i need to double check and make sure it's definitely not touching. Don't recall it touching anything but now im uncertain. If it's not touching, maybe i have some luck and got a newer mount...??

 

Someone took a good picture of theirs and sent it to me and they had great clearance. Mine is way different. I might just try sending it way back. Or I'll just makey own.

 

Now these are what I should’ve installed the first time. Mid bass shakes side mirrors with subs off.. very detailed and dynamic setup. Now I just need to get the VX800/8i and go active and call it a day.

 

I had a scratch on my front bumper that was bothering me so I ended up raptor spraying the bumper. Really like how it turned out.

 

Some people call that SR spraying the front bumper.

 

I used to cut the stuff for a living. Stainless is soft and gummy. It can't be heat treated. It's corrosion resistant but if you want tensile strength you get an appropriate grade bolt for your application. If you need your Grade 8 or whatever bolt to be corrosion resistant you get it coated.

 

Strength Differences
A325 bolts are typically manufactured from a medium carbon steel (although they can be made from an alloy) while SAE grade 8 bolts are made from a medium carbon alloy steel. Grade 8 bolts are significantly stronger than an A325. An ASTM specification with similar strength properties to grade 8 is ASTM A490.

Looks amazing.so the shocks alone give you that much lift?. How’s the ride?

 

What did you use to cut it? Doesn't stainless work harden?

 

Flood with coolant or cutting oil.
Stainless work hardens when generated by heat.

 

New shoes (Falken Wildpeaks), replaced headlights with LEDs, waiting for rain to stop to get into fogs to replace those. Also put in Taco Garage's DMM mount and phone holder.

 

Are those the black chrome looking ones?
