He said he was from Bozeman. I mean literally after I said hi there was no hello back it was straight to "you apart of montes group"? Not that group of tacomas over there, "montes group" lol

I didn't see a lot of trails on the trail map off of the main road, but there were plenty of atvs up there so they had to go somewhere I guess.

Sorry for the confusion and no reply, haven't got on the forum for a while and my social skills suck. I was headed up to Sunlight Basin when saw the group headed out. We didn't officially meet but small world. Hopefully can make a trip sometime and officially meet everyone. Was awesome to see some cool built Toyotas BTW. Again sorry for the confusion. Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I didn't. Did you? I almost put a deposit down for the new rear bumper. But didn't as I wanted to see it mounted.

The Facebook post was interesting. In some ways I can kind of see how they are right. But that doesn't mean you post that and feed the flames.

Shitty deal all around. Sounds like they needed a good accountant on hand and never did.

I'd like to be proven wrong, but the facts at this point indicate this was a calculated move. Look for the next bankruptcy filing in 2026.

I think all Monte's saying (and I agree) is that the internet is sometimes very quick to assume the worst, and start ranting/bashing about it. When things started going sideways for Pelfry a couple weeks ago, no one gave them the benefit of the doubt for longer than about 5 minutes. Then, it was "we're all totally screwed, wtf." If they were in talks for investment, it would have helped them if customers posted to Insta, FB, TW in support of Pelfry - "hope you guys work it out," "we support you Pelfry," etc. - but those posts didn't happen b/c people were worried about their money (also understandable, given the AllPoo debacle recently), and I can definitely see the reaction online spooking investors.

Could they have handled it better? Yes, definitely. Would it have gotten a different customer/online response and perhaps kept the investors? :notsure:, the internet is a pretty harsh place.

But this is troubling to me too if it's true. I hadn't heard it till your post. And even then, it's hard to tell if it's real or internet rumor without more understanding than we all have, I think.

There never were any investors. The ball was already in motion to file for bankruptcy when that post was made.

For sure? That's no good if they were stringing folks along like that.

Pretty much what Dan said. People are just too fast to jump on the mob band wagon with torches and pitchforks for me these days. No one really was patieant. Grant, the out come would not have been different really in this case. But I still think its the wrong way to approach stuff and its just too common these days.

Doesn't affect us much, didn't have any 1st gen products haha though looked promising that they would.

    this is also true.

Still. I wish people would give the benefit of the doubt more than they do today.

    Still shitty deal all around.

I think its amazing how many "big" vendors are going under recently. Just bad businessmen I suppose.

I can't say that for sure, but I'm making an educated guess based on my business knowledge.

Actions speak louder than words. Look at the timeline of events from the first, 'out of money' social media post, to the credit consulting class, to the actual filing, to the final 'blame the customers' post. They were just buying time. Take the 1st gen thread for example. They've been stringing folks along for over a year, while sitting on their deposits. Same with all the other dual swingout bumpers.

On top of that, collecting over half a mil in customer deposits, yet no cashflow to complete those orders? Yeah right. Wonder how much money they were personally pulling out of the business while all this was going on. I hope the bankruptcy judge throws this out, but don't know enough about that legal side of things. Clearly it's their MO to do this as often as allowed.

Bad business and fraud are two completely different things.

    Fishy indeed.

Still, two sides to every story. I'm sure we don't know EVERYTHING. Likely never will. Really sucks for those affected.

    we'll see.

We were talking about it this last trip and how support for our rigs is plummeting. Not a bad thing really, just custom do shit anyways, but still.
