Nice, totally missed that. And yeah that being said what they're doing is illegal in the sense of it goes against the spirit of the law, even if the letter of the law says there's nothing that can be done. Thanks for pointing that out @EDDO!

They had a lot of new products on their site. I think they has more new products than what was previously in production. Gave me the impression that business was very good, or that there could be some difficulty keeping up with demand, if there was interest in those new products. Resulting in a negative outcome.

Three bankruptcies and a piss poor blaming excuse makes me think otherwise.

Until the investors saw the writing on the wall with 2 previous bankruptcies and looked through the books and saw poor business practices. I have invested in businesses previously some paid off other died. If I were an investor and saw what I did with the customer service and previous history I would run. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it wasn't because of their "bad press" on social media that made the investors run. Even still they had to of had plan B the bankruptcy lined up ready to go and knew where they were they were heading wayyyyyy before the "investors" backed out.

At no time was i blaming the friends for what they did. But what I will do you stand up for my friends! He had the audacity to come after somebody complaining about what is going on and telling him fuck you, no fuck him then he's not even man enough to apologize about it. Here in Hawaii we had many people affected by this and everyone is angry and has the right to be then you got this douche nozzle that says fuck us because he knows them nah that's some straight BS

When they started they messed my order up and Tyler drove the bumper to my house to make up for the mistake.
Great products and customer service I can vouch for, business sense, not so much.

Seems like they are hearing about people showing up and fighting their bk and now they are doing damage control. Sorry but having bk counseling on 8/27 and still taking orders on that date or after is damning.

I am in no way defending them - clearly they were absolute dicks to their customers. But in fact taking orders and running "business as usual" while in the process of filing for bankruptcy is pretty standard practice in the business world. Just because it is common doesn't make it any less shitty, but this is just what a lot of businesses do. In fact exactly what the current leader of the free world did six times...

Now the details in this case are particularly sleazy, especially the blaming the customers, but running everything into the ground while filing is unfortunately pretty common.

Had they been this level headed and forth coming a while back and not have started preorders for cash influx, maybe there wouldn't have been a social media meltdown, more importantly had they walked this baby through the weekend, especially if you have investors who are ready to pull the trigger, you don't go dark, you get on the offense and answer the comments and continue to be reassuring. Pulling the classic line of "we need to talk....later" just causes more harm than good.

I feel like I should say something, I created a profile basically just so I could post a comment as I'm a 4Runner owner.

Let me just say, this entire situation has been very hard to watch unfold and I can't imagine how angry/emotional some of these customers are, and am in no way trying to condone Pelfreys action or responses to all this, I think they handled it pretty poorly, esp with their last statement ** they issued a new one where they admit being wrong**

I just want to clear up a few things since I've been following this and other threads pretty closely, and have seen alot of misinformation tossed around.

    - As others have already said, they have been using the ACH thing for well over a year now, they didn't just start asking people for cash all of a sudden.
    - I ordered sliders about 12 weeks ago, was told they would be done in 8-10 weeks, as late as Aug 10th as they just hired a new welder. My sliders were finished and ready to ship Aug 10th (didn't get them coated) and they arrived about 5 days later
    - I ordered the original non gated prototype bumper from them and was making payments, I sent the *final* payment on August 22nd, and it shipped out 2 days later and arrived on the 26th iirc, just a couple days after my sliders did.
    - I paid for all of this, through FB messenger with a debit card (essentially cash) because I, not they insisted there would be 0 fees, they didn't ask me to do that. So.. couldn't they have just taken that money and ran too? Sure seems like it

So, I keep hearing basically all the money they took the last few months just vanished or went to way earlier orders, well for whatever reason mine didnt. Therefore I was, key word was, one of the people sticking up for them as for me, they delivered and on time so I had no real reason to doubt them. This morning I went and removed my Pelfreybiltfamily decals, and it's a sad depressing day, and I actually got my stuff... again to the people who are waiting for refunds, I'm really really sorry this is happening, and it's absolutely none of your guys fault. I know me getting my stuff doesn't really mean shit to you but I just wanted to say that I personally don't think they were just collecting cash for the past 3+ months, I find it hard to believe a company they worked this hard to build they would just intentonally destroy for some quick payday/fraud scheme, but what do I know. I'm just as shocked as everyone else is

I don’t think that they were purposely taking people’s cash for the last year as a plan to go bankrupt, I think they legitimately thought they could pull through, but clearly that didn’t work. All of this is a huge bummer.
