It's less Tacoma and more mod
But I've come to like the SC more now that I used it at elevation, it was sublime and I was faster than similarly loaded V6 trucks even up huge grades.

Anyone know what kind of rust preventive coating Toyota applied to our trucks that were in affected areas? Ive been thinking of recoating it but I dont know what to use. The stuff thats on there is a very greasy consistency. Would fluid film work on top of it?

I'm also very interested. I picked up a switch the other day for this specifically. I haven't looked into what it would take to install yet.

I see fluid film talked about frequently, people just spray their whole frame exterior/interior with it. I would like to look into doing it soon myself, while my frame is still pristine.

I only question its ability to adhere to a pre existing coating. My truck was sprayed by Toyota in 2010. I plan on getting it inspected again this winter, if it passes, and I expect it to, I want to coat it again.

I really considered this when I was installing mine. Do you have any images of what you can see through the camera with it in that location?

Figured out that the factory jack wouldn't extend far enough to get the front wheels off the ground. Hi lift isn't an option until I get around to installing sliders I've had laying around. Want to keep factory jack, so made an extension that also fits into the same cubby as the jack. Gave me another 3 1/2" jack height.

I’ve read on several posts where Toyota can re-apply the coating during subsequent inspections. So long as it was applied by them back when the letters went out. I’m in the same boat, have mine scheduled for an inspection at the end of the month.

@Blue92 Tried to upload a scan of the letter I have saying Toyota will re-inspect and re-apply if needed. Not sure if it worked.

Killswitch is happening. I think I’m going to wire it in-line with the EFI fuse in the integration module.

The Tacoma is one of the most stolen vehicles in San Francisco, so I’m taking precautions. Haha. It’s stupidly easy to Hotwire these trucks.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds

I would wire in the kill switch to the ground wire in the kick panel for the fuel pump. It would start, then die.

Would this potentially damage anything? I doubt it, but would be nervous that it would put strain on some component in the fuel system.

That's a better idea. Where would I find the ground wire? Hard to figure out which ground wire is for what since they're all black/white.
