Guess I only posted this in the first gen section - frame reinforcement as a solution to a rust hole at the passenger side shock mount.

Built this over the weekend. Still need to finish it up. Also, looking for a double shear hinge for a swing out and also a good latch. Not sure which company to go with at the moment.

The 4x innovations latch is the best. It’s so solid and safe. I love it

I took my old garbage Destaco latch off and welded this one in and it’s been amazing

Yup. Wanted to be able to carry 2x fuel cans and a bike rack on the swingouts, so the tire had to go back under the bed. I had a matching 255/80r17 wedged under there for awhile, but recently swapped it out for a kevlar 245/75r17 to save weight and fit better. Hopefully I don’t need the spare too far from home, but if I do I guess I’ll just have to drive slow.

Can't you unbend the arms on the tire fingers and fit a larger one in there? I'm unsure if it's the same for a 2nd gen?

Got it. So you were able to fit 255/80r17 No contact on the differential during full flex? I've been able to fit up to 285/75r16 in the stock location. Guess its around 32.8"

255/80r17 fit just barely for me. Had some slight rubbing on the diff and it was almost touching the exhaust (which I plan to chop eventually anyways). Bent the “tire finger” things slightly to fit the tire, but I think bending more for increase the interference with the diff.

Following all your advice, I bought a portable bad saw from HF. Do any of you use lubricant while cutting? I have some spray cutting lube that is wax like. Or I can get one of those wax sticks...

I wouldn't worry about it if it's not setup for wet lube and the manual doesn't call for it. Most people wear out the blades more from improper use than no lube.

I'm looking for someone local in San diego that can weld aluminum... I need the skid plate on my dirt bike modified to cover a new oil drain valve.
