    Greetings everyone.

New guy from South Texas and I'm seriously considering selling my 2015 Silverado 2500 for a 2018 Tacoma Offroad Sport. I've spent the last few days pouring over the forum trying to get as much info as possible. (BTW, there are a lot of awesome trucks on here) My current truck is lifted on 37's and one thing I noticed that is a lot different over here is that drop bracket lifts for Toyotas don't seem to be very well liked the way they are in the GM universe, however leveling kits are. If anyone mentions leveling kits on DuramaxForum they get grief kinda like on here with DB lifts. There are many companies that make kits for both truck brands and they both have IFS and I know there is difference between torsion bars and coil-overs but whats difference? Do OME, Icon, Bilstein kits just have a "cult" like following like Cognito does for GM or are they truly good kits? Is it the forum itself? Of the few Duramax forums, there is one for serious guys and the others are a lot more casual. Or are the 4 inch and up lifts just not as popular with these trucks?

If I get a new truck I want to lift it a little, no bigger than 32-33s, and I want to do it right and not have parts wearing out before I get to the end of my driveway.

Definitely not trying to offend anyone, just trying to get a lay of the land.

Anyways, back to the search bar.

    Welcome!

Drop bracket lifts are only an option on 2wd as far as I know, so not a lot of people run them. Most of the hate you probably see is because the 4x4 guys can’t have them. What I see people hate on the most is the cheap spacer lifts.

I found plenty of kits for 4x4s. And I agree with the cheap spacer lift comment. I don't think there a truck forum anywhere that doesn't have the "Why spend $XX,XXX money on a truck and and put cheap parts on it" comment.

Are you talking about the 4 and 6 inch lifts that require you to cut the crossmember?

My bad, I was thinking of spindle lifts.

@buckhuntin-tacoma runs a 4” rough country lift and loves it.

Just to downsize. It’s kinda like having a pet elephant. I’ve had massive diesels for over 10 years and I’m kinda over it. I got such an awesome deal on my previous truck that I rolled into this one so what this truck is worth and what I owe I can basically get a brand new Tacoma with a few grand to spare for the lift, tires, and a few other add ons and not have a payment.

    Plus, I miss parking garages.

Welcome to TW... Nice looking Chevy. Just to reaffirm D/B lifts are for 4x4’s, I have one and it serves me well.
