I am not worried at the moment. If the transmission breaks I will find the breaking point. Aisin transmissions are very well built and the advertised torque rating is almost never the limiting capacity. As I recall other vehicles have aisin transmissions with lower torque ratings but the transmissions have proven to hold up to double what the Aisin rating was.

The engine comes stock with 256 ft lbs, and the advertised "limit" is 332, that is roughly 70 ft lbs. Extremely unlikely that the power vs limit would be this close.

For example the AA80E is used in a range of vehicles from 340 to 500hp, and has proven to hold 700+ nm

This would be much more difficult to develop and cast.

On the note of torque limits... How do you feel about the rest of the drive train? Axles, cv's, diffs? I could toss brakes in there too, but I know the models with brake boosters have too much stopping power as is.

FN wheels' version of the TRD Pro 4Runner, TRD Pro front skid plate, Low Range Offroad 3/1 lift, JBA Offroad upper control arms, TRD Pro Shift knob, OV Tuned, 4.88s, 285/70/17 BFG KO2s
The only saving grace for the rear 8 inch diff is that it is a 3rd member design. A 3rd member saves the gearset from a lot of deflection but and the axles are 30 spline so that can hold quite a bit of abuse. I would say you'll find the lim factor of the 8 inch rear at around 375 rear wheel trq and 33s. As for the 8.75 it'll handle closer to 450 rwt on less than 35s before the bearings and other components begin to be jepardized. Ultimately though, more power equals less reliability for components built for a 265-300 trq range.

For some ease and to support what Matt has mentioned, The Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X use the same transmissions utilizing a turbo diesel application putting out 317.152tq... and this is from FACTORY.

    https://www.ozroamer.com.au/euro-5-isuzu-d-max-and-mu-x-launch-review/

Im sure this transmission will be able to handle more than that. I have other concerns about the transmission but i guess we can cross that bridge when we get there once Matt goes through prototype testing.

not a sequential setup, two turbos does NOT mean twice the spool time.

you'll want to have your driveshaft spin balanced for more power

@Shellshock @Chipi3s @Anchovy with that storm headed Mat's way, I'm thinking we'll all be waiting til after it blows through for Mat's turbo info update

In other news, I messaged U.R.D. again, asked if they had any update on the progress of their supercharger or turbo kit for the 3.5L. I'm assuming it was Gadget who answered again and just said that they're working on it. Thinking it's safe to assume that between OVT, U.R.D., and Magnusson, that Mat is the current frontrunner on FI progress for the 3.5L, probably by a significant margin

When Houston saw that nasty storm last year or earlier this year...whenever that was...most of my family back in CA had no concept of how I could live in the same state and yet be perfectly fine and unconcerned. Lol shit, it takes nearly 9 hours to go only a bit over halfway across the damn state
