ECU TSB Update

I successfully used TS 13.10.019 with a Tactrix cable.

Toyota officially supports the Mongoose MFC cable + Techstream. Collectively called Techstream Lite.

Dealers probably use the dedicated Techstream 2.0 package from Snap-on that is $5800.
Toyota also allows dedicated reflashing hardware that ranges in price from $500 to $2500

The $200 Tactrix cable is a bargain.

So if i go to the dealer do they do the update under warranty? I need my first oil change so i might mention there is a stumble on 2nd. if not i have a friend with a Tactrix cable and with knowledge of tuning.

 

Yes it’s covered. Let us know what happens and where the dealer is in case you are successful. This will help others get theirs done.

 

I’ll be attempting to get Priority Toyota in Chesapeake to do this on Monday when I take it in for blower recall. I’ll let you all know.

 

I would be wiling to drive down there if I can't get my closest dealer to do it. Just waiting until I get ready for my 25k. Since I live 2 miles from my destination everyday the miles are slowly compiling. Lol.

 

This arrived today. Will give it a shot this weekend and report my results.

25k in a year with a 2 mile commute is a shit ton... Haha I'm only at 15k and have 9 miles to work

 

I forgot to mention I just moved from a 43 mile each way to a 2.2 mile commute each way. I had to wait until my lease was up to move to the same city where I’m in school now. I’ve lived in BFE up until recently. Lol.

Broke down and ordered a cable. If anyone wants to do a rental by mail (with a deposit) or cruise by Jefferson OR (with some beer or something) after I'm done I'd be willing to help out.

 

Lol, your engine probably barely warms up enough by the time you get work and then it gets shut off again. I'd drive 5 miles in the opposite direction then turn around just to keep from doing that lol

 

I agree. I can’t complain though. Sure beats driving down the interstate everyday. It’s a death trap since it’s a travel corridor. Being here in town is a nice change. I wouldn’t even have 15,000 if I lived here the whole time. But you gotta do what ya gotta do!

Cool. I have the TSB for MT, just need to flash it. A little apprehensive about doing it, but if it's going to be some time before 1.05 comes out, I might do it.
